Movie Deluxe, Who's got them?

Now that these are slowly working their way out, who has found them and what do you think?

I got them all except for Wreckage. Of course, the one I REALLY want!

I'll get him soon enough though. I'll wait and save my reviews, I just want to see what others have to say first. On a seperate note, I did see a FAB fig today at Kmart, it was Jazz, and I gotta say those don't look bad at all.

Definitely better for kids who like to play with their figs. I'd say they're kinda like Armada only look better and no cumbersome minicon gimmick. They may actually be worth picking up.

We all hate you Target workers. Opening the cases, buying them up, then asking us if we got them knowing damn well you got them all. :) @smilepunch@

Would it help you to know that I got mine through good ol' fashioned searching?

My store hasn't even put out the preview figs yet!!! My lead knew nothing of them until I told him yesterday. Hopefully he got those out, if not, looks like I'll have plenty to pick up for extras when they hit clearance.

Haven't even gotten in the deluxe assortment either.

I went to a nearby store after work Thursday and found 3 there, and Wreckage today, then I found the other 4 at a store in the complete opposite direction. Let's just say the distance between the two might come across as a bit much for looking all in one day....but of course I'm nuts so what do you expect?!?

I rarely find anything new at my store first. Most other stores in the area always seem to get new stuff just before mine does. It's quite frustrating actually.

Ok screw it, for those interested here's my take on them.

First I gotta say that there are some QC issues here that could be anwhere from minor to #WTF# and they don't all appear right away.

I've seen several with bad paint apps, so that's something to keep a sharp eye out for.

The bot modes on a few of them have some bothersome parts. They don't lock into anything so parts get all out of place real easy by trying to position other parts. That's kind of a bummer.

I've heard some rumblings about some easy breakage with BB but I haven't heard exactly what yet.

But on to the figs themselves.

Bumblebee- Alt mode looks pretty decent. Though one of the seemingly more difficult ones to find with perfect paint. He's one of the figs with the above mentioned bothersome parts faults. If things were able to lock together more securely it would have been great. Still for a nice display bot he really does look great. For those of us who thinks that's all that matters it's no biggie.

Jazz- We all know about the not so popular dull alt mode color. That aside he really is one of the more solid figures in the lineup. The arms are a bit weird but otherwise he's a great looking bot! So far, no issues to report.

Scorponok- Ok his bot mode is a bit silly. But at the time it holds the same kind of fascination with me that Backstop did. I HATED the pics of the GF version we saw for so long before he came out here and I ended up getting him and actually loving him. The scorpion mode is just killer looking and I can't wait to put him with Blackout. All in all, I'd say worth the price.

Brawl- The most complicated issue here. He's half fantastic and half #WTF# His tank mode is simply BRILLIANT! Best tank ever. His turrets have dual mobilitiy. The top smaller guns can rotate seperately from the big cannon. Then he's got other smaller guns/launchers whatever they are, that can move seperately too. His bot mode just looks like an absolute GOON! I just love his look. The issue however is that the turrets come off the tank as one piece. Inside of that are his arms. The rest of the tank transforms neatly into the body and head but the turret is a pain to keep positioned on his back and where the arms peg into the body to hold it all together, they don't hold, so the shoulders are always popping out.

The whole thing can be a floppy mess. Perhaps a quick fix to make those pegs hold better would help greatly. That would also help make sure the turret stays put on the hinge. (it always wants to come off)

Swindle- Quite fun for what he is in the prequel comic, a drone. The stature in bot mode kind of reminds me of when they reactivate the drones in "The Key To Vector Sigma." His alt mode is a nice sporty little car and the booster, chest cannon is a neat touch. For an add on figure to line it's an all around nice addition.

Bonecrusher- Ah..poor Bonecrusher. Just a little while ago a pin that holds one of his arm panels in place just slid right out. Now I gotta be careful not to lose the little bugger. But again, a bot that just SCREAMS goon! He's gonna be one badass mofo on the big screen. His arms are ape-like and his arms extend to be frighteningly long with almost talon like claws for fingers.

Pin issue aside, he's pretty neat and definitely innovative.

Wreckage- Looks great! His armored assault vehicle looks neat and his bot mode is one of the most impressive looking of the bunch. However he suffers the difficult part syndrome. Yep, move his arms and his whole upper body will start sliding all around. No way of securing everything in place again hurts this figure. But for show he is definitely one of the best.

Barricade- DING! DING! DING! DING! DING!!!!! WE HAVE A WINNER!!! He's just all around cool! Of course like the rest of the cons he looks a REAL BADASS! Together with the rest and Starscream and Megs you have the intergalactic goon squad from hell! His alt mode we've all seen looks great but his bot mode well exceeded my expectations. What looked like parts that stick way up on his arms can swivel and fold over giving him a much better look.

Barricade really is close to being a deluxe sized alternator. I do think he's that good.

The movie is gonna rock!

Overall, some annoying quirks, yeah. However, something to be expected when taking the engineering of figures to a new level like this. Hopefully we see the flaws ironed out and future movie line figs will just continue to get better and better. These, while certainly not perfect are nice representations of the movie characters, and that's all that matters to me.

It should be interesting to see how they're going to handle the designs going forward into the sequels. I don't think people would like getting a lot of the same figures in the sequel line, that's bad for business, so what's gonna happen is anyone's guess.

hopefully my stores will put them out this week. Most of my stores have them in the back, they even told/admitted it but they are ##$%$#ed and don't know about the may 17th release date, so I wrote a email to hasbro in hopes they someone will contact them because I can't wait to get them. I was so desperate for a transformers toy today I almost got Longview at my Kmart but of course when I bring it up, it isn't allowed to be sold til the 2nd so I couldn't even get that. :(

I just ordered Wreckage and Brawl from Hasbrotoyshop.com with the discount code for all of sixteen bucks. Soon, you will have my thoughts on these two. I already like Brawl a lot because A. I always love tanks and B. he reminds me of the Mammoth Tanks from Red Alert 1&2.

The Real Gear figures are SO cool too! If it's any consolation, those little suckers are well worth the wait!

yeah Longview looked so damn awesome that I would've taken him anyday of the week haha.

I'm debating whether to buy off hasbro.com or not....I could buy one now, or wait til June 2nd which seems like the case with all my stores in this area.

Ok....so I have 3 of the new Movie Deluxe figures and here are my thoughts......

Bonecrusher

I got him because I like his ALT mode.....however, there are two things I don't really like about his ALT mode, first the back tires don't really line up very well. So, they are always a little out of alignment with the rest of the body. Second, his scale is a bit off with the rest of the deluxe vehicles, not a big issue for me. I do like the fact that the "Claw" does come off, depending on your point of view this can look kind-of messy. Now his robot mode...is well just plain freaky. The two biggest complaints here is that he has no wrist articulation and the shoulder hinges have a lot of weight on them making them tend to fall down.

Swindle

I got him because he isn't in the movie and he has a rather generic, yet unique look to him. Overall he just kind-of feels a bit flimsy, like the plastic he's made from is cheap. His ALT mode is cool enough with a "jet" feature. His transformation is neat, I love how the middle of his body folds to create the lower torso area...and in my opinion looks 100% better if you leave his chest cannon pushed in. His robot mode is nice enough, but I have a few faults with him. First his head is movement is really limited....if he had a bit of a neck and movement it would have been a lot nicer. Second, his legs have very little twisting ability so his feet are always straight out front. Lastly, the ball joints that he has as shoulders are probably not going to last long, because of the entire weight of his arm resting on them. For some reason, which I can't put my finger on, he is my favorite of the three.

Bumblebee

Maybe its the painted windows....or maybe its the fact that all my cousins had Cameros...but I just haven't taken a liking to him. Other than that, I have to say that that this is a great little toy. A few things of dislike I will point out. Again, parts of him feel cheap, his shoulder missle things want to spin...well because they are hooked to his wheels. Also, the piece that holds his head doesn't really lock into place....so it can swing back and forward. This is also true for the piece that holds his insigna in his chest. Not that it causes a major problem, but the fact that it just swings free gives you the feeling that maybe you didn't transform it correctly.

Ok my 2 cents

They sound pretty cool! The whole no locking thing doesn't bother me that much. Or at least it doesn't sound very bothersome to me. Nice heads up though with Bumblebee's paint apps, though. I'll have to look out for those!

Yea I picked up Jazz, Brawl, and Barricade (woulda picked up more but ran out of money) last week. The only thing I don't like about Jazz is the dull color like everyone says, but then again it does work cuz they are supposed to be robots in disguise right? We don't want Jazz standing out now do we? Brawl... well I just gotta luv my Tank TFs. Luvin his alt mode his bot mode however the only thing I didn't like are his arms. Now Barricade is by far my favorite so far. No complaints about him so far.
