Hey Gang,

Got this in an email today, Looks like we will be getting some re-issues!

=====

Direct from Hasbro:

Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received from retail for our 25th Anniversary driver item, we have added a line of the classic 3 ¾’’ scale in single packs for Fall 2007. This line will feature the best-ever executions of the most popular characters from the 80’s TV show. Packaging will be reminiscent of our same packaging from 1984. This is the perfect line of 3 ¾” figures that our collectors have been begging us for.

Watch for our announcement of theh re-opening of TheJoeCompany

Have Fun,

Fred

Actually, I don't think it's related to the 25th Single packs. It says they "added" a line, which the single packs aren't - they are part of the main 25. Also, they reference the additional line as "classic 3 3/4 scale," which the 25th have never been described as. I think in Hasbro's initial release they called them all "new sculpt" with more articulation than ever, etc. My point is, with all of the collector feedback and tremendous buzz, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro tried to capitalize by adding another commemorative, old ARAH style line as a tie-in. It also says it will include the best-ever executions of the 80s figures from the cartoon show. I read that as them saying "we're going to be re-releasing figures that were most true to their cartoon form that came out in the 80s." Not to mention, Hasbro does G1 reissues already for Transformers, so it isn't far-fetched they'd do similar marketing for GI Joe.

But that's just my 2 cents.

I think they mean that they've added more 25th single cards to the orginal 25. I doubt these are reissues at all. Hasbro likes to use words like "Classic" and "vintage" as collector selling points. They used it with Vintage OTC, and Transfromers: Classics. Niether of which were reissues.

Edit: Also this part:

"This line will feature the best-ever executions of the most popular characters from the 80’s TV show. Packaging will be reminiscent of our same packaging from 1984. This is the perfect line of 3 ¾” figures that our collectors have been begging us for."

Pretty much tells you they are not going to be reissues.

Edit: its the poster that claims these releases will be re-issues--the email message says NOTHING about them being re-issues--only that they are "the best-ever executions of the most popular characters".

This is just another blurb for the 25th Anniversary line.

Looks like the guy jumped the gun on this one, I could definitely see this as news that the 25th Anniversary line will continue, which is VERY GOOD NEWS!!! I'm starting to really look forward to getting these, especially now that we know (more or less) we'll be getting more than just 25, which had me worried once we started seeing V2s of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow take up spots.

It really wouldnt surprise me at all. figures not compatible with each other seems to be hasbros thing lately. i wish they would just pick a style and stay with it! although this would be good news for me cause i would love to see some good ARAH repaints!! :)

Sorry Gang, I got ahold of our Rep and she told me this was an old email she resent out to us.

Long Weekend and an early Monday so I just got excited like we would get more.

I know that the Mass Market is pretty excited about the 3 3/4" Joes returning so I think if there is good sell thru it will build.

Looks like we will get the same five figures in slightly different assortments in June and July.

Have Fun,

Fred
