New Custom

I put this guy together tonight. I know he's a cobra, probably a viper, but can't decide how to paint him up.

 

I decided I'd paint him by committee, letting all you wonderful people tell me how to make a great cobra operative. The parts are set in stone, but the paint is all up to you guys. I'll run the poll 'till friday, then paint him over the weekend.

I say junglie green and brown with some dry brushing, but not too much, just enough to bring out the details...

Hmm, normaly I would say Crimson (duh), but this guy just doesn't seem like he would work in Crimson. Maybe in the regular Cobra colors.

that looks like it would make a cool updated version of a saw viper! or that could be the gun talking. . .

I hate that helmet but love the rest of the customs. That head is so distinictive i can only think it would pass off as aquatic or maybe artic, since cobra doesn't have to many good artic guys i went that way.

I vote Black and Red, like the Convention Iron Anvil. I also voted for dry brushing, even though I honestly have no idea what that means.

Dry brushing is going over your paint with a different color to bring out the details or make it look weathered.

you should give him urban camo (i love the mix of grey/blue, black and white) i think it makes sense with the helmet and all

 

otherwise maybe the original cobra colors work

Yeah, I know thos sleaves aren't 100% accurate to RAH standards, but I had to work with what I had.

 

So it looks like I'll be making a new jungle operative this weekend... Any suggestions for names?

Alright fellas, it's 10 pm on the east coast and I just took a shot of nyquil (stupid kids at work got me sick), Time to announce the winner.

 

In a stunning come-from-behind upset, it looks like old-school cobra beat out the jungle theme.

There will be camo and dry brushing. I'm not quite sure how this is all going to work out, but I have a few ideas...
