And no, Toybiz doesn't do cartoon face sculpts. I am looking at hundreds of them on my shelves and wall as I type this... some of them are not good, but they are not cartoony

Clam I feel your pain, but that statement isn't really true.....I mean what about the Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Boxset? Both Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman have faces that are way cartoony.

lol.. yeah... that is true. I don't even count those figures @lol@

I don't own them. But Hasbr is making a move to cartoon-ize ALL their sculpts... its gross

Man, some of you seem to think that toybiz never does the cartoony headsculpts on their marvel legends.

I guess you guys think this head is so great that you overlook this:

Guess this is realism to you Toybiz fanboys......

Don't forget that the purple X-23 head was cartoony as well

At least, Rachel looks better than that Indie toy and the purple x-23. I wouldn't be suprised if it was sculpted by a Marvel toys sculpter

that little ugly thing is cartoony because the Indie toyline is ARTIST specific. All the figures will look just like the artists draw them. And also, that figure is like a pack-in or something.. not a regular figure.

But Rachel is ALSO artist specific. I don't see what is the big difference other than personal biasness against Hasbro's Marvel Legends.

As for Toybiz, they HAVE done some cartoon sculpts in the past such as Invisible Woman from the boxset (which is based on a specific art style) or the Spiderman and Green Goblin Hamrbos(sp?) figures.

Spider Hulk appears cartoony as well, but he is wearing a mask.

hold up... ALL of the figures in the new Hasbo waves have cheesy, cartoony heads. Not just Rachel.. And Toybiz did have some, but aside from the FF boxset, they were obviously stylized.. And in 3 waves of figures, Hasbro has already don't more cartoony figures than Toybiz did in 16.

also, I am not really biased against Hasbro's Marvel Legends. Go back and check out the SDCC threads and see how I WORSHIPPED the Hasbro wave 2 prototypes, before they swapped all the heads

Look at Rachels bio picture in wikipedia. It looks exactly like the toy!

Pretty crazy! I think the sculpter used that picture.

okay.. but do you want Marvel Legends to turn into DCD? An entire series of artist-inspired figures, that do not fit with each other whatsoever? @lol@

You can go ahead and buy that Rachel figure, but she is gonna look ##$%$#ed next to the freakin awsomeness of ML8 Storm

I wonder if anyone who hates Hasbro's ML's has ever taken into consideration that they aren't supposed to be exactly like ToyBiz's anyway. If it were, Hasbro's first wave would've been wave 16, rather than restarting at one.

I just took a look at the newly posted First appearance Capt. America and Bucky, as well as the other series 3 stuff... I've bought some crap figures in my time just to complete a set, but this is just too much.

That's it, I'm out. game over. I will not buy these.

No more money for Hasbro. Say bye bye money...

Of course ppl realize that, Stormfan.

It's the fact that Hasbro are serving up an inferior product that has got alot of people's backs up (mine included). For me, Hasbro have totally ruined this line. I think their character choices are great, but their translations are poor at best.

Yup Yup! Colossus definately has the same thunder thighs problem that Apocalypse had. I really cant stand that more than anything thing else they could do wrong to a figure.

yep... and it just doesn't make sense... I mean, Hasbro is making conscious decisions to produce crappier toys.

Look at the wave 2 SDCC proto pics. They are fantastic, as good as anything Toybiz did... why? Because they were desiged by the Toybiz folks.

I just think Hasbro likes having things a certain style.. a stamp that says Hasbro did this.. because they can't stand the thought that their stuff is designed by somebody else @lol@ well, thats one theory.

I know that Hasbro can make toys better than anybody else... they just won't.. they don't care. They can make the figures with Toybiz designs and Hasbro quality... wow... why not?

I never said i liked it or was going to buy it. I was split in between. Also i just saw that on wiki and was like woah! But the more i thought about it I agree, the figures should look consistant because you want the figures to stand next to each other.

I think it could be just that one sculpter who is doing that. Everyone has there own styles, just like in comics people draw them differently.

I really like the look of this wave. :)

Danger Cyclops and Black Knight are my faves.

I have to ask though, whats the reason behind releasing another Capt America?

Well, for a Marvel Universe heavy hitter, he's only had 3 figures across 17 ML waves and 2 Face-Off waves. He's not exactly in Wolverine and Iron Man territory yet. But I do admidt that his outfits haven't varied as much as IM, so maybe another release wasn't necessary. But then we wouldn't have this stupid grin version that's going look lame posed next to my other Caps. @grumpy@

lol yeah I was gonna say it's a bit weird to release yet another one when his costume doesn't even change much. :P

Still, I don't own any Capt figures so I may aswell start of somewhere...like the Face Off version. :P

1) I am sorry Hasbro is going the flat cartoony look. Realistic textures were one of the great things about ML when they worked.

2) Hasbro better ship just cases of that Hydra figure because I'm going to buy everyone I find and then some poor kid isn't going to be able to build his Brood Queen.

Only cartoonish head sculpts in HML3 are Rachel(fits the art perfectly though) and FA Cap(while it doesn't fit the art perfectly its close) the others are the same old ML style everyone seemed to love yet now seem to hate Hasbro for useing, so weird.

you are joking right? they aint even remotely the same.

if you want evidence of the differences, look at the SDCC 2006 Hasbro wave 2 pictures and then look at the same figures now. And then try to tell me that you don't see the difference.
