DCSH Series 5/4.5

I saw internet shots of Steel and Parasite, but had no idea what else was in the wave until going to Walmart Last night.

-Supergirl-Modern Kara Zor-El blue repaint/remold.

-Superman

-Bizzaro

-Steel

-Parasite

-Lava Doomsday repaint.

But now I have more questions that might have been answered, but I haven't been able to find. Are the Superman and Bizzaro straight rereleases like they appear, or are there any minor differences I didn't pick up one, like the Superman with the black symbol has brownish black hair and red eyes instead of blueish black and blue?

And is that Doomsday comic accurate, or is it just one of those ridiculous repaints they do like a glow in the dark Batman? I've never followed Doomsday much, and although I don't think he ever looked like that, it's the first non comic accurate figure in the line (well, the black supergirl variant too, but she was relatively hard to find chase, not a regular figure).

Thanks in advance on any insight.

Read the threads posted on all the DCSH stuff. All the info you requested is in those threads, as well as our pissing and moaning about them.

I've looked alot and found no answers. Just a bunch of petty bickering.

Straight Repacks.

Variant wank-job. He's got no comic based reasoing behind him. Just a repaint (abiet a unique and simultanneously stupid one).

I personally think the doomsday is from when all the heros shot him at once in the Death of Superman....

Well, also in the Justice League Unlimited Season 1 episode (titled "The Doomsday Sanction" I believe) when Supes and Doomsday are battling in the volcano, he looks EXACTLY like this figure. For those that can, check it out and you'll see what I mean. Now why would they base a figure from this line on a JL episode is beyond me, but thats exactly what it looks like. Thats my best guess as the figure looks exactly the way he does in the volcano, but still, it was a dumb idea.

Thanks! It's a hobby B)

To possibly answer your question about Doomsday, I too am thinking the "orange look" may possibly be based on the JLU episode "Doomsday Sanction." While battling Supes inside the volcano, the lava-like lighting inside gives Doomsday a very similar look. It may sound like an odd theory, but if you saw the DCSH protos on display, there was also a black costumed Doomsday, looking very similar to his appearances in the Superman, JL and JLU cartoons. Like this pic:

He has a similar look to his animated counterpart here:

So, I wouldn't be surprised if these figures are actually paying homage to the animated designs.
