and for those of us not interested in army building, this helps us get at least one, as oposed to all of you freaks buying everyone you can find. @smilepunch@

Good point.

Besides, you know this Hasbro trickery...if the line is remotely succesful, that Trooper will appear again. Gotta milk the mold at least.

Next 15 will actually be...

1 Tiger Force Duke

2 Tiger Force Roadblock

3. Ninja Viper (trooper storm shadow repaint)

4. Python Trooper

5. Hooded Cobra Commander

6. Destro (1997 colors...with Pimp Daddy chase variant)

7. Baroness (1997 or "original" blue colors)

8. Quarrel (Scarlett)

9. Snake-Eyes (cartoon blue)

10. Gung-Ho (original light blue)

11. Cobra Commander (unreleased 1997 colors)

12. Red Ninja (Storm shadow with maybe new head)

13. Snake-Eyes (removable mask)

14. Starduster (Duke repaint with new accessory)

15. Cobra Trooper (comic book colors)

like 3 or 4 new parts. @smilepunch@

You forgot the SE repaint COBRA Mortal. Although the Python Trooper was a good idea.

The happiest news I've heard so far concerns the packaging arrangements and the price points, both good. I'll pass on the 5 packs since I was never big on the core COBRA characters, but if Hasbro releases some single pack CGs, BATs, or Snow Serpents I'm all over them.

Toyfair 2007 is THIS weekend?! Woo-hoo!! For some reason I thought it was next weekend! So, by this time tomorrow night, I may have my first look at the rest of the anniversary line-up? Wee!! (lol)

As for the packaging announcement, I couldn't be happier. I couldn't help but smile at the mention of the sound box included in the five-figure packages that play the Joe theme. Heh...that's sweet. And I'm relieved to know single packs will be available as well. I was so afraid that we'd get this close to new-sculpt classic figures only to not have them on the classic card backs. I'm so excited...

Read the article and the press release already tells you who all the figures are...

Characters include G.I. JOE force’s fearless patriots DUKE, SNAKE EYES, GUNG HO, SCARLET and ROAD BLOCK, as well as their slithery adversaries COBRA COMMANDER, DESTRO, STORM SHADOW, BARONESS and a COBRA TROOPER.

GI Joe 5 Pack - Duke, Snake Eyes, Gung Ho, Scarlet and Road Block

Cobra 5 Pack - Cobra Commander, Destro, Storm Shadow, Baroness and Cobra Trooper

Each of the fifteen 3-3/4-inch figures – in replica G.I. JOE packaging circa 1982 – will feature new sculpts, enhanced articulation, and a base stand featuring the character’s name.

The 15 remaining figures are from the first release of 1982...

1. Breaker

2. Cobra

3. Cobra Officer

4. Flash

5. Grunt

6. Rock N Roll

7. Scarlett

8. Short-Fuze

9. Snake Eyes

10. Stalker

11. Zap

12. Clutch

13. Grand Slam

14. Hawk

15. Steeler

Cobta Commander and Major Bludd were mail-in figures in 1982...

I think you are taking it too literally. the 82 reference is clearly about the card style, not about the figures. besides, a few of those figures didn't have cards in 82, so than they couldn't count if it was a direct replica of 82. it is clearly about the card style which can then be used for any figure.

Ok, I know these are supposed to be in memory of the old joes, so i think there may be a chance of seeing lady jaye, but listen , everyone seems sure of it. i've said it too many times before, if they killed the character off in the comics, they are almost surely not to make the figure again unless its a comic pack. yes this is for the old ones so i have a feeling that this time there is a chance but there also is a big chance they wont. also if the next 15 r of the original figures, then i wont be too happy i dont know why maybe because i feel the same way if they were killed off then they shouldnt be brought back unless its a comic pack, i dont know.

I thought this was interesting: "...a base stand featuring the character’s name." Wonder what they will look like. Just a simple stan with a placard or some kind of "dio" type stand for posing.

And I did hear that SE v2 was very likely.

Draven

I sure hope not!

The figure, while cool and all, does NOT belong here...yet. If and when the "line" is successful, THEN we they can do him.

But if, by chance, these 25 are ALL we are getting, I'd rather not waste a "slot" on two of the same guy. I'd rather have 25 different figures. not 24 because we have two Snake Eyes.

I'd figure small since the cards are going to be that retro look. It can't be something that takes up a lot of space and has to be something that can be put behind the figure or in the acessory bubbles. I'm guessing a Joe logo for the Joes, a Cobra Logo for the Cobras and their name painted on it. Much like the Saga Star Wars figures come with.

man... I would have prefered them all to be single packs... they look so much better...

and I was planning on buying them all and leaving them MOC.... because I aint sure if I am going to dig them that much (being new sculpts and all)...

oh well, we'll see what happens tomorrow

Well at the pro side it means 50 for all of em on the negative side i will have to pick up the cc and duke that i didn't want. I may have to attempt to custimize a little with these. Nah, they will probably just be display pieces.

I would prefer 15 different single pack characters although i do wnat a straight up single pack rerelease of that trooper down the line as well as officer, a scarface version etc. That's a mold you can milk and not even have to reset the paint aps if you don't want to hasbro! I'd love a black cc and a v2 se and heck i probably would take a red ninja and ninja viper aswell but that's if the line continues!
