Cole WWE's #1 Announcer?, Batista's Backstage Attitude!

Apparently the decision to allow Michael Cole to call the Royal Rumble match this year, and not Jim Ross as usual, was a clear message to good ol' JR that Cole is being groomed as the company's #1 announcer.

While Batista has his friends, many in the Smackdown locker room are not fans of the current world heavyweight champion. Some have compared him to The Ultimate Warrior, ouch!

Dave Meltzer reports that The Royal Rumble on 1/28 in San Antonio, TX was a legit sell out. It was announced at 16,118 fans in the building on the PPV broadcast (actually 13,500 paid with about 15,000 in the building).

I mean people dogg on JR all the time, and I like him, sh!t I liked it when Vince was the main man doing commentary. I could do without most of the commentators for all of wrestling, but when Gorrila Monsoon and Jesse Ventura had it going on it was great, when Randy Savage came into the commentary it started sucking, when Gorrila and Heenan started up it was great again, When Bishoff, Tenay, Shivone, and Heenan is started it was sucking again. When Joey Styles came on it was new, but it started to blow really fast... When JR, McMahon, and Lawler came on it started being cool again, then there are so many combinations that work, and so many that don't. Personally I don't think Smackdown had a good commentary team. But I will admit that Cole was better than Tazz and Bradshaw...

I like how these like rumors never have nothing to back them up. I think these internet reporters just put them out to stir the #$@# up.

um.....Thats not always true, because two weeks before the WWE winter cleaning, I said something to Doug Basham about seeing a rumor on this board about since Heyman's status with WWE not being certain that they were looking to fire him, well he told me the same thing, yet 2 weeks later he was fired. So there may be some merit in them somewhere...
