Classics Ramjet, Cliffjumper and Skyfire Reviews

Ramjet:

Vehicle Mode: Not much different from Starscream, really. But the wing are nice and accurate, as are the colors. It was funny to, I never noticed the "wheels" in Starscream's chest for vehicle mode until someone in another thread pointed it out (the flip out). Makes them more stable, which is cool. I don't much like that his face sticks out the bottom, but then most TFs were designed to be looked at from the bottom, so it's more of a nitpick.

Transformation: Same as Starscream.

Robot Mode: Now here is where Ramjet is so much BETTER than Starscream. No wings to get in the way of the guns on his arms. And I like that he got his own "face". Plus, he's a bit more stable standing up and posed.

Extra: The missile launchers are, of course, the same as Starscreams. But the cluster bombs are a nice, easy alteration that lets him look G1. The only thing is I might have to pick up another Starscream just to get the guns to put in instead of the cluster bombs in bot mode.

Of my other reviews, I put him above Bumblebee (I surprised myself). He's better than Starscream and more "accurate" than Bumblebee, just not quite as possible as Prime and Mirage.

Cliffjumper: His bio mentioned his "glass gas" gun, why not give him one? Plus, would it REALLY have been that hard to give him a different head?

Vehicle Mode: Same as Bumblebee. I don't mind the silver and the seats are painted too.

Transformation: Same as Bumblebee.

Robot Mode: Same as Bumblebee.

Extra: Same as Bumblebee.

I'd put him equal to Bumblebee, being a straight repaint, but the head thing bugs me.

Thus far, from worst to best, it is:

Grimlock

Hot Rod

Astrotrain

Megatron

Starscream

Cliffjumper

Bumblebee

Ramjet

Mirage

Optimus

Skyfire

Mirage would be #1 if he wasn't so flimsy.

Now, all I need are Skywarp and Magnus.

i just found the last one today at target as well as the 2 pack! haven't cracked them open but he looks great and i like the little bio story on the back.

Cool. Still looking. Like I said, I was surprised I found these guys (especially ALL at once) since New Mexico takes forever to get stuff. I STILL haven't seen the Plague Troopers!

I don't like mirage as much as everyone else does. It's funny everyone hates grimlock and loves mirage yet the pegs are bursting with mirages and now cliffjumpers and ramjets, and there's only 2 or 3 grimlocks or none at all.

I'd do it like so, best first, worst last.

Skyfire

Ramjet (hmm he might be higher up than usual because I just got him and really like him... he might go down as the new toy smell wears off)

Bumblebee

Skywarp (much better than starscream, painted face and now I guess he's a slight remold as I read this on seibertron.com)

Megatron

Ramjet

Starscream

Astrotrain

Mirage

Grimlock

Cliffjumper (boring repaint of a mold that looks better as bumblebee)

Hot Rod

Hot Rod just isn't that great, he could be so much better with some minor differences. But even the worst classics is better than the best armada/energon/rid figure. I'd give hot rod a 7/10 so that shows you how much I really love this classics line.

In order of how i like them

worst to best

Astrotrain

Megatron

Bumblebee

I love how they did Hot Rods legs, having them pull forward like that was genius...in my opinion.
