More 25th Anniversary Figures!

New thoughts on some of these...

 

Snake Eyes looks perfect... Definitely among the top three SE figures ever made (still think the original V2 is best, of course).

 

Roadblock, as I said, looks perfect as well. Maybe my favourite of the bunch, actually. I'm so glad they used him and not that poseur Heavy Duty!

 

Gung Ho's arms look REALLY bad compared to the rest. I certainly don't mind rivits if ALL the figures have them, but they look really bad when it's just on this one. I'm really hoping that's due to being a prototype. I'd personally like to see the uniform a bit more "blue" if you know what I mean, but I suppose we might get a repaint down the line.

 

Cobra Commander looks good. I'm guessing the chest joint is right under the upper belt, rather than not being there at all.

 

Destro looks great. What's with the green eyes though? Is that from the cartoon/comics? I can't remember...

 

The Baroness' glasses look plastered/painted on her face - I think that's what's off about her. Hopefully that changes for production. Not saying they should be a seperate piece but they need to be molded to give it a 3D appearance, because right now they look more like a superhero mask.

 

The Cobra Trooper looks great, but is lamely posed (of course). I love the Dragunov, because it was included in the original, but I hope he comes with an AK too - it just bugs me to have an army of snipers (yeah, I haven't quite army-built the '83 version yet, not sure if I'll get more than six or so for a sniper team, especially since I have a lot of TRU Infantry guys already, with Marauder AKs). I can't wait to see the Officer, and I hope he's not just a simple repaint and has details like the original. I wouldn't mind them repainting this mold over and over though, give us a Viper pilot, Stinger driver, black uniformed UK-style, Scarface... Use 'em like you do the Clone Troopers, Hasbro! We won't mind...

 

Now, who do I want to see next? Zartan, Flint, Lady Jaye and Stalker, most of all.

kinda sad it wasnt the version 2 snake eyes but i'll take it and a couple more as well haha

 

I think the fact that it isn't the V2 version is a pretty big hint they're planning more figures beyond the first 25, so I'm taking it as good news!

There actually starting to grow on me. At first I didn't like them so much because of the lack of o-rings, but I am already getting used to them? I guess its really the look and not the toy construction that makes a GI Joe figure.

 

I think I will buy these now. I hope they are single packs and with the original card art.

 

and I gotta get me a couple of those Cobra Soldiers!!

I suppose he could. The V1 Snake Eyes met Timber in the cartoon.

 

I wouldn't mind until they waited for a V2 version to include him though. It's gonna happen, mark my words!

maybe the rivits on gung-ho are just because he is a proto.

 

I don't know about the rest of you, but my big gripe is the very smooth and plain helmets, especialy on cc.

 

Some of these are great figs (roadblock and destro ) but i still don't like the designs. I understand though, i'm in a minority on that. IF these do come apart in any way i might repaint roadblock. I prefer my machine gunner in black and green.

 

I'm soooooooo excited it's just amazing guys! i love it. the 3 ninjas, gung-ho and the cobra solider are my favs. Wouldn't change a thing about em. CC needs a more detailed helm, baroness's glasses seem a bit off, destro and rb, well like i said, seem dated and dukes face and helm seem off. Those last 5 are all still good figs, great figs but yeah not as great as the first 5 above them.

 

I really do hope these come in single packs i hadn't plained on replacing my custom cobra soliders, but if my wife lets me...lol. I hope hasbro releases those troopers EXACTLy the way they are multiple times. how about a 4 pack with an officer to lead em? that would be perfect. I would definatly dig a scarface repaint aswell.

That's exactly what I did. Although it was tempting to fill my addiction for buying GI Joes I just couldn't spend my money on Sigma Six stuff. I just kept on telling myself that something special was coming. It was obvious this was coming, and many people predicted a line based on the original character look with contemporary figure design. Its a given that as long as there's a 3-3/4" Joe fanbase Hasbro will continue to try and profit off that niche. As long as we're here 3-3/4" Joes will be too.

I like them alot, I think it's pretty cool. I think one of my favorites may be Cobra Trooper. He looks bigger in a way like he could be an actual character, but I think he's able to be army built.

Man Gung Ho looks great. I like that they made his right hand to hol dhis grenade launcher correctly. Also it dos look like he has some spare grenades going down his left leg. His tattoo should be little bigger IMO, but I can live with it. Now could someone PM me the pics of the others please?

I'm liking the GH and Scarlette pretty well. Don't like the rivets on GH's shoulders, but it's not a bad figure.
