Hey guys!

So, this weekend, I'm going in for my second tattoo. Im contemplating getting Kyle Rayner's Green Lantern ring tattooed on my finger. Any opinions? Should I get something else?

I got my first one done in August and I love it. Heres a pic....Im sure you guys will like it.

I really wouldn't recommend getting a ring tattoo for two reasons. 1) Much as it sucks, if you go on job interviews and what not, a tattoo on your hand will likely give off a negative impression to certain employers. and 2) Ring tattoos fade pretty quickly, since the skin on your hand is constantly regenerating.

I have two DC tattoos myself, both based on alex ross' artwork. The Flash and Green Lantern. Here's GL:

WoW!! Glad to see Im not the only one with a Starman tattoo. So, I thought about it and I gotta say....Im not gonna do the ring tattoo. Eventually, I'll get Kyles symbol, but I know what Im gonna do. On my inner arm, Im gonna get the the T part of the Nightwing logo (the bird shape). Ive been contemplating that for a long time now, so I just figure its time to do it.

Thanks for the advice, all!

god, that jacket's beautiful. Im SO impressed with that, bro. Amazing work.

Mind if I ask how you did it?

For me, Nightwing and Starman have been my 2 favorite heroes for a long time now. I was 13 when Jack came out and I thought he was so cool. My dad passed away this past October. Re-reading Starman struck a chord it never did before. It really helped get me thru my father's death. I noticed so many similarities between me and my dad's relation ship and Jack and Ted's. I had the tattoo before my dads death, but after it, it took on a whole new meaning.

Yeah, Jack's the man.

I was around 23 at the time the series started and I saw alot of me in Jack.

Same tastes and viewpoints.

He had the kind of father-son relationship I wish I had.

We matured together.

The series ended around the time my daughter was born, and that meant alot to me, the way it ended. Jack growing up and becoming a man, for Teddy. Same for me and my Rahne. Kinda paralleled my journey, from know-it-all smart-@$$ to responsible adult. Before that I loved comics, but never really connected with any characters, before or after, like I did with Jack.

As for the jacket, just acrylic paint, bachelors degree in art, and about 3 days.

just no background really. have like the outline of the face with the eye and all of nightwing. its the cover to nightwing #93. i always liked how the batarang (nightarang) was place in the eye of whats suppose to be a moon buts really a face.

the only tattoo i would consider getting for me would be hal's green lantern ring my finger. and maybe the symbol oh my arm or something.

Great post man, thanks for sharing that. As a diehard Jack and Starman fan, these words ring true with me too. The tats, the jacket, I love it!
