Thanks guys, makes me feel much better. I didn't think that it would be the case, but I had to wonder if something was broken in their. My CAT IIs are quite a bit tighter.

I can now cross the MOBAT off my list of perfectly mint vehicles I want!

Oops, spoke too soon... I opened up the battery cover and yep, rust... Looks like someone tried to scrape it off, but it's still pretty ugly. One of the two copper conductors attached to the bottom of the tank is rusted off, too, so I'm gonna probably need a whole new lower half.

Anyone have any old incomplete MOBATs hanging around they might want to get rid of? I'll take it - I don't need the machine gun or figure or anything like that... Just a nice minty lower half (solid tread version... but I don't actually need the treads).

Just a quick question, are these generally more loose (up/down motion) than the newer mold versions of this tank?

I own a couple. I also have a couple of Crimson Mobats from 86. Nice old school tank!

Huh? I didn't know you were into Joes! (Or maybe I just forgot...)

yes....bigtime!!! my friend got me into them way back in 85. I was still hooked onto star wars and he was telling me Joes were so much better because of thier multiple points of articulation and cool weapon. He used to bring over a joe or 2 every week and let me keep them. I eventually got hooked. Currently I think I have close to 3000 Joes.

So I got my MOBAT fixed up... I noticed the turret is loose now that I've put it together. I don't remember it swivelling as loosely as it does now, maybe I'm just forgetting?

Are these things pretty loose in general? (Except the commander's cupola, that always seems pretty tight.)

The one I have is loose. And it is in great condition.
