Hasbro-we need an apology wave

Okay Hasbro, you have the rights to the Legends, probably the greatest Marvel figure line ever. Now, if you really want to make a big splash in the appreciation pool, how about a wave which would undo some of the "little mistakes" made with a few of the characters.

Ideas:

A 2-pack of Namor & Dr. Doom. Namor needs his green trunks, period. Dr. Doom is a bit of a joke. He's not menacing at all (looks like Franklin Richards could kick his butt). He needs to be bigger and more evil-looking. He is the ultimate villian in the Marvel universe, and deserves that kind of respect. There are a lot of great old comics too which featured these two as well.

A 2-pack of Reed & Susan Richards. Reed especially looks rather pathetic. At least the FF line gave us a pretty good Susan (which very few were able to pick up). You could use her with an all-new and improved Mr. Fantastic, and just have them in matching costumes.

A 2-pack of Gambit & Rogue. Gambit was fine when he first came out, but now is completely off in scale-terms to mostly all of the later X-Men (ie Bishop). Rogue is green costume would be much appreciated as well (maybe re-use the X-treme mold, which most seem to like).

Cable could stand an updating as well.

Don't blame HASBRO for Toy-Biz's screw-ups (and there were many screw-ups...paint apps, floppy joints, poorly constructed torsos, where do I start?).

If there's a market for these figures as you describe them, then perhaps HASBRO will consider revising/releasing them. Otherwise, it's not likely.

Sorry. Don't mean to be harsh, but there it is.

The only apology I want is for FA Thing. And for the Super-Skull and Kang fiasco. And for making the Bobby Drake variant impossible to find. Actually for making XMC3 impossible to find in general. I'd be content then. :P

Not a good reader are you? He didn't blame Hasbro for anything. @hmmm@

I'm sure some of the main characters will be done again, but for the most part I'm ok with what we have.

Doom and Namor are my biggest wants. The others would be nice, but if it didn't happen, so be it.

Not sure how the themes work. Toy Biz was pretty random in their choices, which wasn't bad, since it allowed for more teams to be built up.

Still want more new characters as well. Nova and Mole Man are up there in that list.

Habro needs to fix their own mistakes before they fix Toy Bizes. Almost every figure in the first two waves look awful so far.

Doom does have potential to be a great figure, but I'm content with so-so the one we have now.

There is nothing wrong with Gambit, Mr. Fantastic, or FA Thing for that matter. Read his commic, he looks nearly identical.

We just got a new Rouge figure and it looks stunning. Maybe you wanted a Jim Lee version, but oh well. She's had 2 figure, that's two more versions than someone like Sunfire, who is in my opinion more important.

I prefer the Namor we got. I would like to see the green trunks too, but I wouldn't call it something TB did wrong.

The only characters I really want to see get redone are Scarlett Witch, War Machine, Movie Daredevil, Spider-Woman, Modern Wasp, Black Cat, the New Avengers and Spider-Man 2099. But even those I could care less about.

Forgot about Black Cat. That one was pretty bad as well.

I like the Gambit figure they did, but it seems the later waves got bigger. Bishop, modern-Cyclops, even X-treme Rogue, all tower over him, although to compensate I have him on the X-Harley bike, and it balances out. True, Gambit's not needed, but a good green-costumed Rogue would be cool.

I was just surfing the Ebay and came across a loose Black Cat. I never got the sinister six set, and she was cheap so I came very close to buying her and then it hit me.....my god she's awful. They have to make a new black cat to make up for that cause man, she's fugly.

I don't think Doom or Gambit are bad at all, even Namor isn't bad per say - I'd just prefer him in his more iconic, green trunks look. Reed and Sue to need more adequate figures IMO though. Reed needs a figure that can display his powers more, a comic book version equivalent to the movie Reed that had all the add on stretched parts. Sue needs a long haired version, a more definitive classic look. I always hated figures of the FF because they never got Mr. Fantastic and Sue right, and Thing and Torch don’t look right without the others.

I am game for a new Jim Lee outfit Rogue.

A new, less movie like Prof X would be nice to have with hover chair.

Scarlet Witch needs a new figure - for obvious reasons.

I wish they would make some small scale Wasp and Antman figures that are actually obtainable.

A more identifiable Ultron would be nice.

Red Skull doesn't have a real amazing figure IMO.

Allow me to add Magnetos name to the list of characters that need redos. I'll also second Ultron, Dr Doom, Namor, Reed and Sue. Rogue can go choke on a fat bag of d***s for all I care though. OH and we need a bigger release of Kang and Super-Skrull, awesome figures that many of us never even had a chance to see.

And what about some Hulk Classics baddies released. That Toy Biz Maestro was awful.

Why was that?? I thought it was rather cool!! I like it alot!!

Yeah I had no issue with him either.....though some hero accessories would have been nice.

As with Toy Biz's ML, Hasbro's lines have me liking some figures but not liking others. As always, there's stuff that could be improved upon. I'm hoping over time we'll see the following:

- Mr. Fantastic - nice, classic look. You should be able to seperate the body and add on all kinds of neat stretching attachments. Legs, arms, waist, torso, neck, hands, etc. Also, even neater if you could combine peices if you bought more than one to make him stretch further by snapping them all together. Oh, and no loose joints.

- Invisible Woman - Again, just a nice classic version. Variants for different invisibilites would be okay, but include some neat invisible objects as accessories are a MUST. A pedestal, some force projections, and a neat force field that would go from the ground up and cover her... not some rinky-dink shield.

Human Torch - A "modern" articulated Johnny with some flame attachments, a base to be put on, and a variant of clear red/orange/yellow plastic.

And please, make these non-Ultimate versions with the costumes matching each other. Blue uniform with dark blue or black collar, boots, gloves.

- Namor, the Sub-Mariner - the classic green trunks look. Give him that nifty horn he was always blowing on to summon sea monsters, his red cape and crown from the early issues of Tales to Astonish, and a big trident (even the one the first one came with would be great to re-use).

- Mole Man - Comes with his staff, removable cape, and three Moleoids.

- Re-release Kang, Dragon Man, Super Skrull and the Absorbing Man. No extra anything. Tweak the paint EVER so slighty if need be... but, c'mon... these were great sculpts that should've been easier to find.

- Scarlet Witch - make the body a little more feminine and a little less frail, with a new headsculpt and some hex bolts you can fasten onto her hands.

That's what I'd really really like, at least.

Re-release Absorbing Man again? He got released twice - once as a hard-tofind Hulk figure, and then again packaged with Spider-Man.

Have to agree with a decent Red Skull redo. And I saw someone wanted a better Mysterio, which I thought was funny, since I had another post asking if anyone was able to customize a better one. I just do not like that Mysterio head. Might have to replace it with a ping pong ball.

If Hasbro or ToyBiz revised a character every time someone on the Internet didn't like the version we got -- we wouldn't have seen ANY new characters since around Wave 7 or 8.

Amen.

Let's call this "apology wave" what it really is......wish list. Not that there's anything wrong with whish lists.

However, any fan of the Hasbro-controled GI Joe 3 3/4" line will tell you how far posting THEIR wish lists have gotten them..........

Re-release Bobby Drake variant too lol. This is a impossibly hard figure to find in retail, on a barely even shipped wave.
