DC Comics Toy Findings

finally I got myself a BB Unmasked at Walmart. Now I can open the old one. plus, I bought the JSA Sandman by DC Direct. sweeeettt!!! @jump#

so, maybe someone can tell me.. if Mattel can put the Kay-Bee exclusive figures back in regular case packs, why cant they re-insert the Wal-mart exclusive wave 5 figures back into the case packs? since EVERYONE would like that!

thats logical, isnt it?

My best guess would be the difference in circumstances - If Mattel made X amount of figs, and sent them all to Wally, where they sold out, they wouldn't have leftovers to stick in the case mix. But since KB closed before they could receive their complete order, maybe that left a bunch in Mattel's hands, and therefore, they could do what they're doing.

That's all I can think of...

Ares, I dont know if i agree. look at all the people that never got these. my guess is that these wave 5 figures ARE somewhere.

maybe in a Wally world warehouse? maybe a black hole.. but if so many people didnt get theirs & never even saw them in stores.. there should still be figures out there to be gotten.

right?

or it's still sitting somewhere in Asia. like those stupid Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Nemesis wave. never seen them here at all, but my friend in the Philippines already got them. so I'm pretty sure it's sitting in a warehouse somewhere out there. damn you Mattel!

ya know.. heres a thought.. so we know that Wave 10 or 11 is another Wal-mart exclusive wave, right? ..

so, what if.. ( fantasy or reality) they get to the warehouse.. some Wal mart dude says, hey.. dont we already have a buncha cases of these? and they finally kick out all the un

distributed Wave 5 figures..

hey, it could happen, right?

Beyond Comics - Frederick, MD

I've heard only good things about this store rom locals saying they had one of the largest comic stores in Maryland. Long haul up the interstate to this place. Was initially looking for GI Joe's but was surprised with a ton of DCUC Wave 6 and 7 over here. The pegs were literally overflowing. The only figures they didn't seem to have in stock from Wave 6 was Red/Blue Supes, Mr. Miracle, and Killer Moth.

Also the usual back stock other DC Direct figures including Justice, Kingdom Come, Reactivated, and a near complete lineup of the 12" figures including Watchmen from what I remember.

But probably the last time I bother going to this place as it was simply too far away to justify a return trip. And the employees over there are you're typical holier-than-thou fatman comic store clerks. I didn't stay long as they were making feel ill just listening to their chatter.

I found a DC Universe classic Batman Beyond maskless variant at Wal-Mart.......maybe I am mistaken but was this not a KB exclusive?

Yeah, but KB went out of business before they could sell them off. I guess walmart got this one. I believe target got the sonic arm cyborgs.

Hi,

Anything's possible, but I doubt wave 5 figures are sitting in a Wally warehouse. They got where they are by having the best distribution system around. Apparently, according to the doc I saw anyways, they revolutionized distribution. Still mistakes do happen I guess..

Funny you mention that.......the same Wal-Mart had a buttload of Sonic Arm Cyborgs.

These TRU exclusives finally came down to a reasonable price. They are both reduced for clearance. They are currently taking off an additional 20% off clearanced items. And on top of that, taking off an additional 20% off all DCU products. Final prices- Battle of Metropolis- $22.38, Defense of OA-$19.18.

Got my bats/clayface and supes/braniac 2 packs at the local TRU today. They have one more bats/clayface left (they might have a supes/braniac too; only one bats/clay was out and the other two were hidden).

I wish it was clayface/braniac. I do like the supes tho. Hate muddy bats.
