What 3 3/4 stuff can we expect?

Ok, I figured I'd start a topic on this so I can have something maybe to look forward to in the future. I know we have wave 4 coming sometime. But is there anything else that I don't know about?

Just the talk about some 25th Annvi. item coming next year.

Well Gi Joe like other lines comes and goes. Right now it died down but it'll come back.

And there will be something to look forward to in that.

Make no mistake, that anniversary date is quite important to Hasbro, and just because very little news has come out on it, doesn't mean the news is BAD.

Have a little faith. There are things afoot that you cannot know.

GIJOE is NOT dead, not by a long shot. ;)

someone else also pointed out that sigma six might just be another theme and will be phased out for something else.

As far as 3 3/4" not just joe makes it you know! i'm really digging super hero showdown !

but while we have a break i'm going to save money and focus on dio making and custimizing

There were big expectations for the 20th anniversary, and we got nothing worth remembering (JvsC t-crotch figures).

Well, the typical toy milestones that get celebrated are 10th year, 25th year, sometimes 30th and 40th years,m and 50th year anniversaries. IIRC, there was no actual marketed celebration of the 20th aniiversary.

This time around it could be something well worth remembering.

Did you guys like the collectors line that came out in like 2000? you know, the two packs? I thought it was pretty cool that they gave us more realistic figures and paid tribute to some vintage classics but i never really hear them being talked about on the boards. They also dont really sell well on ebay i've noticed. Would you guys be happy with something similar to that for the 25th?

But is there anything else that I don't know about?

Nope!

Us 3 3/4" fans (12" included) are currently the red-headed step children of Hasbro's G.I.JOE line, and they're currently catering to their new "spouses" bratty-ass kids.

We sit at the little table, hopin' for scraps to be thrown our way, while the others are feeding their fat faces on the tofu version of G.I.Joe!

That line was ALMOST perfect. The repaints were bang-on, for the most part, but I didn't like the fact that everything was in two-packs, and I hated the packaging. Not that it really matters, since I collect loose Joes, but it should have been in packaging more reminiscent of RAH. The vehicles from that line were pretty bang-on too... I still really want to get a camo MOBAT and desert tan Dragonfly (Locust), not to mention the HISS III.

Something like that would be great for the 25th Anniversary, but they'd really have to step it up a notch, and give us reissues of characters that have been long gone. Top of the list: Snake Eyes V2, for starters. Just make him a little different to distinguish him from the original. I figure if they took the effort to remold about 10-12 classic RAH figures with their weapons (no more crappy Crimson Twins guns, unless they ARE the Crimson Twins that is) that were lost, plus a few RAH vehicles, and a lot of collectors would be happy. Throw in a set of new-sculpt 3 3/4" Sigma Six characters, and you'd be satisfying pretty much everyone.

This would be my line-up...

Hasbro reissue line (all original parts and accessories):

General Hawk ('86 reissue with desert camo pants, slightly lighter leather jacket, tan helmet and backpack, and grey pistol)

Duke (V1 of course, probably some sort of camo scheme, different coloured accessories)

Snake Eyes ('85 reissue, all black, slightly different coloured Uzi and backpack, grey sword. Timber has dark grey highlights)

Stalker (V1, same camo scheme but in desert colours, tan weapon)

Bazooka (olive drab t-shirt, camo pants, olive drab weapon, slightly off-colour backpack and helmet)

Dusty (with Desert Storm style "chocolate chip" camo, tan FAMAS, maybe a green pack)

Footloose (desert camo version)

Low Light (olive drab scheme, maybe with camo)

Cobra Commander (V1, but in black)

Cobra Soldier (V1, but in black like CC)

Vehicles: "Navy camo" Tomahawk, desert AWE Striker, black ASP, grey camo SNAKE Armor

3 3/4" Sigma Six line (all new sculpting):

Duke

Snake Eyes

Scarlett

Long Range

Hi-Tech

Tunnel Rat

Heavy Duty

Cobra Commander

Destro

Baroness

Zartan

BAT (I guess this is already made...)

Vehicles: Crimson HISS tank (like in the show), olive drab Mech (ditto)

Well Hasbro did celebrate the 20th anniversary of Transfromers in 2004. We got 20th Prime, and the "20th" logo was on a lot of Transfromer stuff at the time. I mostly remember them plastered all over the comics.

I still think that Hasbro is going to do something for the 25th anniversary, just not in 3 3/4 scale. My bet is on 8" figures that resemble their RAH counterparts, and maybe 2.5" RAH vehicles.

I think if they did that they'd be totally missing the point.

My hope for the 20th line is that we get side by side two-pack with the Vintage ARAH figure and a brand new mold figure that represents that same figure. Like an example would be the Cobra Viper.... Maybe they could finally reconstruct the lower legs, and then give him his gun and backpack. (Know they have them, but the gun had the soundattack added to it. Which I thought destroyed the mold, but other guns that had the soundattack tab showed up later without them. And they used the Backpack in 97, so they at least had it then.) Then you do a brand newly constructed Viper on the other side.

Be cool if they did the same thing with vehicles too. Like a ARAH Cobra Hiss packed with DTC HISS with newly molded cannons and without the gold/green launchers and a black canopy.

Well I think if they make something other than the 3 3/4 figures for the anniversary of the 3 3/4 line, like it was said before, it would be missing the point. I like the old figures, and stuff but I think with most of those they should stick to the comic packs, I have been likeing new mold stuff alot also, but I just want the toyline to pick up at a decent pace over again. It did back in like 2001 there were so many things to buy.

I would be happy if we got the Sigma Six 3.75" Cobra Commander that was nixed before it's release along with the Camo VvsV Firefly!

Along those lines, the rest of the "Robot Rebellion" that we didn't get in 3.75", this includes all the various BAT designs.

Or, if that doesn't meld with the 25th anniversary I would be fine with a few Sigma 6-Packs in the 3.75" size:

Pack 1:

Robot Rebellion:

1) Overkill II (similar to the last 6-pack but with a new paint scheme and attachments - along with a helmet of some sort)

2) Ninja BAT (White)

3) Ninja BAT (Dark Blue or Camo Green)

4) Heavy BAT from the 2.5" line (White)

5) Heavy BAT (Dark Blue or Camo Green)

6) BAT (from the lst set in a different color, perhaps Red)

The Ninja BAT and Heavy BAT don't exist as far as I know, may have to be sculpted.

Pack 2:

Cobra Resistance

1) Cobra Commander (the S6 design we have seen)

2) Destro (based on S6, I believe this can be done by making the T-Waist '02 version an O-Ring)

3) Baroness (repaint, maybe in Red/Crimson of the VvsV version, maybe with arm/leg changes that Munitia sports)

4) Firefly (the Camo VvsV version)

5) Major Blood (with a missing Hand that can use BAT attachments, use the Spy Troops BAT arm for this)

6) Tomax (or Xamot) and a file card that reads to his brother's demise

Only one change in mold would be needed (the O-Ring remold) for this pack, all else exists.

Action Pack 01:

Sky BAT (wouldn't take much, the new BAT mold and the existing VvsV/Spy Troops Glider)

Action Pack 02:

Raptor Viper with Glider

It used to be great to go to the store and find some new stuff. I always used to come home, be tired but still run back out and get them. It was the collest, and now nothing. I see something new every now and then, and don't even have the heart to buy it because either it'll be gone by the time I get the money or it's sigma six stuff which I'm not really into.
