A quick conversion project: one-man 3 3/4 copckpit tub for the Dragonhawk

I don't know if this will interest anyone here, but here goes:

I was asked to do this by a member of another forum.

I roughed out a card master pattern:

Made a template:

And then did the final build:

Total time about six hours on and off.

The template is here in case anyone else wants to have a go(If you print the image out on A4 paper, it should be the correct size). Try it out with paper first before cutting card or styrene.

I really like the details on that cockpit you did.

Awesome little touches like that are very impressive and make a world of difference, at times.

 

I wouldn't convert mine but that looks really cool, nonetheless.

Plus I wouln't know how or where to begin, as I lack a lot of customizing skills.

I still think someone should steal that mold and upsize it to the proper scale, but that's not bad!

Thanks guys. As i say, this was made for another forum member, but i know a lot of folks were moaning about the fact it takes a lot to alter the existing tub, so the attached template is all the hard work done for you already.

The detailing i added(Like the instrument detail, and the ejection handles), were just to whow what could be done if you have an extra ten minutes to spare on the build.

I personally like the little scale the ship is originally, but i appreciate not everyone does.

I was asked to make this, and i know there are lots of folks out there who wanted this as a 3 3/4 ship to begin with.

All it needs now is a folding ladder(Can anyone else tell me how the little guys are supposed to get into it?).
