I remember when the Super Power figures came out in '84 there was a cartoon that went with them. It focues heavily on Darkseid, Kaliban and had Firestrom in it. I've never seen this since and all of the DVD releases that said Super Powers on them were the old Super Friends cartoons of the 70's. Anyone know what the specific name of the show was or where to find it?

Thanks

Dave

oh yes!!! i LOVED this show AND the toyline. the new dc superheroes is what i was HOPING would be a new super powers line. the show had a couple different titles the most regular one "THE SUPER POWERS TEAM: GALACTIC GUARDIANS". i REALLY hope they release these on dvd like they did the super friends.

The Galactic Guardians series was the best version of the DC superheroes until Justice League and Justice League Unlimited came around. GG dropped the silliness of super friends and actually thrust the heroes into darker territory. GG actually revealed the true origin of Batman for the first time on animated tv. It was an awesome show.

Wow, there really weren't many eps of that series; I was disappointed when CN's "Super Powers" run was so short. I sure thought there were more eps.

"The Fear" was one of the things that stuck in my memory of the show; I don't remember many of the actual eps besides that one.

By the way...

I remember this show from re-runs. I became a huge Firestar and Cyborg fan. I always thought that it was the same show as the superfirends. You learn something everyday.

I remeber this episode, it was with the Scarecrow. Wasn't this when Adam west was doing the voice?

Yes, this was the series when Adam West did the voice of Batman. I think it is the only time Adam West has ever portrayed Batman in a serious way. The Fear was an awesome as well as the death of Superman one. Too bad Galactic Guardians didn't last alot longer.

Cool that so many other people remember this show to. I thought it was just me. It's good news that this show is supposedly coming out on dvd next year. If it is as good as I remember I'll be picking it up.

I remember him doing Batman's voice in one of the Batman cartoon shows in the '70's, but I don't remember if it was campy like the tv show. I think Bat-Mite might have been in it. I just remember that one episode had clayface disguise himself as the fender on the Batmobile and wound up in the Batcave.

And I thought I was the only one who seemed to remember that animated series from the 70's. Yes there was one during that decade but it seems for all intents and purposes, everyone seems to have forgotten it. Burt Ward was in the series as well but of course I don't have to tell you who he was voicing. Sites that are dedicated to Batman never even mention it. Like you, I do recall that same episode of Clayface disguising himself as the fender. I even recall one episode when the law was after Batgirl. The show was alot better than what the Superfriends was putting out during that time.

i remember that one, didn't they shoot his body into the sun. then it turned out he was only in a "super-coma" to fight the kryptonite or something like that? anyway i remeber the show and truthfully i always just thought it was another version of the super friends
