I'm guessing you bought one of the Chinese DVD sets off ebay? They're borderline bootleg in my opinion, no packaging or anything...but as long as the dvds are good quality and the episodes are all you care about, then I'd say you got youself a good deal.

From what I understand it's the official Chinese release. I don't think bootleggers would go to that much trouble.

 

As far as the Rhino issues go, piss on paying $300 or more for the entire set when I can get a nice tin box, some extra inserts, and the entire series for $15 less than even one of thier box sets.

Yeah, they play in any DVD player.

 

I've been meaning to pick one of these sets up myself. My problem though, is that I'm torn between getting the set in the Wood box and the set in the Metal box....I know what's inside is pretty much the same, but has anyone seen both in person???? And if so, which one is recomended?

 

I'm kinda glad I waited though, they're a bit cheaper now than they were a few months ago and there doesn't appear to be any shortages of them, so I've got time to wait a little longer.

Oh, ok, its the one with the Tin and booklet and all that...then I take back the comment about borderline bootleg. You definitely got a nice looking set there, thats the one I'd go for if I bought any TF dvds.
