DESTRO UNMASKED

 

I'm not particularaly interested in unmasked versions of characters, as the execution is usually arbitrary and using another characters face to represent the mystery of a masked character IMO usually destoys what it is about that character that drives us to know what he looks like. a masked character has to have a unique face, and that generally can't be achieved by using headsculpts of other characters. that being said, I always imagined that Destro's mask was somewhat form fitting to his face, which would mean it would reveal what he looked like somewhat underneath it.

 

with that in mind, I decided to use the Destro head as a base, thus defining Destro's own features and character, instead of using a face that looks similar. I sanded off the rivets, sculpted hair, and painted the chrome flesh color. voila, perhaps an accurate unmasked Destro headsculpt.
