I <3 Cybertron Menasor

Yeah, yeah, I know everybody hates him and knocks his lack of hands and simple transformation but ever since I first saw Moledive, I thought he looked awesome. I picked him up the other day and after futzing with him a bit, I understood why I was so drawn to him. To anybody who has seen the show Big O, tell me he doesn't look like he should be an enemy robot, if not another "true" Megaduse. The over sized forearms and bulky lower legs, the unconventional hand weapons, the oddly placed secondary weapon (the cannons on his chest, can't see those coming in handy too often), quirky design elements (treads on his feet, wings on his shoulders, horns on his knees), he even has a cockpit! His simple transformation can be explained in the same line of thinking. Again, if you've seen the show, think of Big Duo's transformation to flight mode, a few fins and wings extend, arms turn upward to form engines, head tilts up slightly. Menasor's transformation is simple like this too, arms flatten out, legs compress and flatten, shovel halves close. I've heard reviewers knock his alt mode because it looks like "a robot laying down" but what if that's the idea? Plus, he's from the giant planet. He's not just a giant robot like "this van turns into a ten foot robot" he's a giant robot like "this giant drilling machine turns into a giant robot as tall as a building" which is more the scale of Big O's robots.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd almost bet money that the designers of Menasor intentionally made him resemble the giant robots of Big O, or they at least intended him to be an homage to the sorts of giant robots that came before (and after) in Japan. He's not so much a poor Transformer, but rather almost an unofficial Shogun Warrior. Anybody agree or am I just some whacked out crazy-pants?

I think he's fine! ALl the giant guys have lame alt modes IMO but I figure they just don't need fancy transformations or fancy alt modes. they're construction workers. they just need the tools to serve their purpose, they don't hide from anyone
