Eh, close as I could get. ;)

Spidey

Colossus

Daredevil

Gambit

Nightcrawler

Rogue

Shadowcat

Wolverine

I started following the MU in the mid 80's (UXM 205/7), that line-up and the Jim Lee run are my all- time favorites

Hard to get the 5 but here goes;-

1) Daredevil - I think he has the best set of superpowers, plus he just looks cool.

2) Wolverine - ever since I saw this guy when I was younger, my adamantium claws have been in the post...

3) Cyclops - Leader of the X men and an awesome character

4) Spiderman - We all know why!

5) Iron man - I love the idea of the suit of armour on the regular guy

Honourable mention goes to Captain Britain, as Braitain owes him at least that much @loll@

In order and why

1. Wolverine- its him

2. The Punisher- he is an anti-hero just to clarify and he pushes the limits + hes cool

3. Captain America- Ultimate Avengers movies did that

4. Nick Fury- no explanation

5. Batman- he'll cross the line if he has to but he isn't superpowered and still kicks arse

5. Cable - His decisiveness and determination makes this character. He has a view of peace he wants to spread and he is not above using violence to do it. Another soldier walking a tightrope between violence and diplomacy. Great stuff.

4. Elektra - Her amorality makes her very interesting. She doesn't do things because they are right or wrong. She does them because thats her job at that particular moment and so she is equally likely to do something for the worse than for better and that makes her interesting to me

3. Nick Fury. An old soldier type which i think is great. He's the head of a powerful spy, anti spy organsisation/peacekeeping force and isn't above and beyond playing dirty or doing dirty deals for what he thinks is the greater good which makes him an interesting character. Again he has been very patchily done. Some good and some very very bad but great character nevertheless. Again alot of untapped potential.

2. Blade - an underused and misused character. I love the character even though, arguably, most of his stuff hasn't been very well written. I see a great character with alot of potential not being put to use but hopefully this will be corrected with the new Blade ongoing. The six issue MAX mini was a great example of Blade written well.

1. Punisher - My all time favourite character in Marvel U. The most determined character in the marvel U. He is Clint Eastwood to Captain America's John Wayne. There has been alot of different takes on him, some of it truely awful because some writers just do not know what to do with him or how to approach him but when written well there isn't anyone funnier or more kick arse than Frank. Garth Ennis and Chuck Dixon's runs are examples of this. Somebody mentioned "Welcome Back Frank" and that is also one of my all time favourite punisher stories.

I have a few other characters i really like. The Hulk is one of my big faves. I also have to mention Deadpool. Captain America I have grown to like very much thanks to Ed Brubaker and Mark Millars arcs. I see him as a John Wayne, old morals type character. Moon Knight is another character i like..as well as hawkeye. She Hulks new stuff by Dan Slott is brilliant as well as Zeb wells new warriors.

My top five are:

5. The Hulk (been a favorite of mine since I was a kid)

4. Maggot (I like his off the wall power and general strangeness)

3. Marrow (Loved her as a member of the X-men... not so much as a villian though)

2. Banshee (Was my favorite until the introduction of Penance)

1. Penance (No character holds more mystery for me than the young red skinned girl named Penance)

Dude...lose the Slipknot sig. I don't wanna have to listen to that every time I open a thread you've replied in, and I can't imagine how horrible that sig must be on load times for people with dialup.

Okay, I'll play for real. We know my top choice, but here's my top 5...

1. GAMBIT - Has been, and always will be, my favorite.

2. PSYLOCKE - The hottest female in comics ever, the Jim Lee drawn Psylocke.

3. The THING - Probably the first Marvel favorite for me.

4. JACK-of-HEARTS - There was just something about this character I liked, and he got better and more interesting as time went on, right up until he died.

5. SHIPWRECK - A stretch on two parts. One being Marvel had the Joe rights a long time ago, and two being Shipwreck was only featured in one Joe comic, and that was it.
