Was Hasbro going to do Sigma6 for the 3.75 Joes?

Some of the prototypes for the Attack of the BATS series are the same as Sigma 6 BATS and CC has the same armor.Plus theres the R.O.C.C. and Long Range. So, I was wondering if that was where they were heading anyways, just with the 3.75 Joes instead.

since the S6 cartoon contains several designs that were found in VvV, it isn't unreasonable to assume that the other figure and vehicle designs that the lines share were originally 3 3/4" designs and were just exported to S6 as well.

 

was Robot Rebellion was going to be identical to S6? probably not, especially when you look at the DTC figures we got that were new figures entirely. they don't look like S6. I think it is more likely that S6 incorporated some of the ideas planned for the 3 3/4" line, not that the 3 3/4" line was going to be S6 just in a smaller scale.

That should have been brought up at that round table thing at the con (thanks go out for putting it on here TNI) I agree though, I think robot rebellion would have been great, but Sigma 6 as a animated series is great, I like what tidbits have been shown for season 2, for me sigma 6 will be my son's g.i.joe, but hey, we have the 25th anniversary of a real american hero, so let's quit chin-wagging and let's hope Hasbro brings us the greatest joe assortment yet.

Well, comparing the DTC figures to S6 figures isn't entirely sound. The weird "anime" look to the S6 figures was a KEY selling point. They HAD to look "different" otherwise they would probably be ML style or even 12" style.

 

But, yeah, it is most probable they just took the characters/story/ideas planned for Robot Rebellion and developed them into S6 instead.

we're talking about two different things. the point is that you didn't see any Sigma suit wearing Joes, meaning the Sigma 6 concept did not originate in the Robot Rebellion theme. this is only known or assumed by comparing Sigma 6 figures and 3 3/4" figures, and has nothing to do with the anime look of the characters.

As originally designed, Sigma Six would have essentially been a replacement to the 12" Joe line, and a suppliment to the 3.75 line. The cartoon would have supported primarily the 8" line, but the use of vehicles and designs come from the 3.75.

 

Robot Rebellion was originally planned to use nearly ALL of the 2.5 vehicles (in scale of course), and the "non Sigma suit" renditions of the characters seen in the first episode are very close to what that theme's core characters would have looked like.

I would think that sigma was created for 3/3/4 and I guess after they did some "research" they decided to go with a different size. I am pretty sure that they have the 3/3/4 molds/or were working on them until the 8" concept came into play. It only makes sence with the vechicles that we got and the new 2.5 vehciles that we are going to be seeing. Plus this is that CC that was on ebay for sometime. I am thinking that if ever sigma looses it's appeal they will transition back to the 3/3/4 line, but that is my hypothesis.
