I vote for Detroit!

Here's a link to an article written about Detroit before the Superbowl was held there this year:

Detroit has great restaruants, a kick-a$$ music scene, casinos in Greektown, and during the summer Tigers games are a great time for a cheap ticket price.

If not Detroit, then I vote for Chicago.

I remember reading an article or hearing on the news on how before the All Stars game or some other big event that happened there, they totally revamped that section of the city, trying to cover up the "hellhole" look.

I've personally never been there.. but being from Chicago, growing up in Houston, living in Dallas for a little while.. and then coming back up here, I think it's safe to say that every major city has it's ups and downs.. no matter where they choose, people are gonna complain about it... if it's on the east, the westcoasters will cry.. if it's on the west, the easters will... if it's north, the southies will complain.. and etc...

Where ever they choose, I really want to go to the next one, I've been watching the coverage for the last 3 years, and I'm really itching to go, I would have loved to go to this years, but I'm heading to TX later this summer, so that's not an option... Next year I'm going to the Star Wars convention in L.A. So I hope it's nowhere near there, lol.. that way I can enjoy two very different cities(and well, I dont think I can afford to go to L.A. twice)...

so, lets hope they dont drag their asses again this year.. and I hope we get enough of a warning, so some of us can save for the trip :)

Dayton, Ohio at Wright-Patt AFB has had a FREE AIRSHOW the weekend of July 4th for the past two years. They'll likely do it again next year too.

This year's show was Friday, June 30th. FREE AIRSHOW with F-15, F-16, A-10, B-52 and more followed by a great fireworks show.

This is all at the national Airforce Museum here at Wright-Patt.

Probably can't top those attractions anywhere else.

Museam, Airshow, Fireworks...all free admission. #US1#

I hope the 2007 convention will be closer to the northeast states. NYC, Buffalo, Philly, Viriginia, Baltimore, Washington DC, or even Boston would be great to host it.

I'd like to see somewhere in the NW...like Seattle...that way it's close to home, and I can go without much expense. :)

New York would be awesome and I mentioned this, but they replied that it has to come down to money and they want to keep the hotel caped at 129.00 a night. In NY they have not been able to do that in the past.

Hell, Michigan.

Why not? GI JOE's going to hell already. @firedevil@

The city of Hell is about an hour west of Detroit... so if the con was in Detroit we could all go, and then when it's over we could all go to Hell... #GvE#

I still would lobby for Detroit.... Cobo Hall would be a great venue for a convention.

Y'all can't top this.

The convention has NEVER been in the Midwest either.

Dayton was also the location for the first ever BOTCON back in 1995 that got all of the "80s" conventions rolling.
