A quesion for con attendees:

Was there this much whining at the actual convention or do people just wait to get home and do it on their computers?

I'm a HUGE Joe fan. Have been since I was little. I was lucky enough to get to go to the con LAST year and it was one of the high points of the summer. You're in a room FILLED with THOUSANDS of Joes, any hole in your collection can most likely be filled. Chances are most people left with lots of Joes and a lot less $$$$ in their pockets, and there's STILL complaining about things that they're NOT getting! Really???

Our hobby is fun! Try to enjoy it.

I can't claim to represent anyone's opinions but my own, but in the past year or so when this whole 6" GI Joe legends campaign started I've never been able to understand its driving motivation. As far as I can tell it sprang from a few people going ga-ga over guys like Edmund's truly talented work, but I never really "got it" beyond that.

Neither can I, and as far as I can tell, it is basically the SAME people here at ADC that have been advocating such a line (aside from some ML fans who thought it would be neat)

As I said in another post...

A Well thoughtout and executed Joe ML custom ≠ Hasbro success with a Joe ML line.

The 2.5 inch figure are just imitations of the 2.5 teen titan figures that my son plays with. They started out crappy and now they have a little bit better articulation. The 2.5 figures will only last a couple of years

maybe then we can get some more collector oriented rah or new sculpt figures but I figure we will be limited to the convention exclusives.

Answer: the people at home seem to do more complaining than in person. Overall a very positive atmosphere at the convention.

Wow, the lack of almost anything for us 3 3/4" fans really sucks. But we still go 24+ figures out of the DTC line, so I guess that's better then nothing.

As for the fact that many TRU's have a lot of S6 figures, Well I blame TRU and Walmart and not how you think. My local Walmarts and Targets have the Soldier waves selling out all the time, but the commando waves seems to just sit there. Meanwhile at TRU I see lots of Commando wave 1 that have been bought from Walmart and returned to TRU after the last "get one free" sale they had a couple months ago. All these figures have the shrink wrapped tv eps with them that's how I know they've been returned.

And finally the long debated ML style Joes. I just don't care about it right now. Yes I would probably get them, but I also know that Hasbro would come out with some completely new version of those characters and fans would whine because they wanted a V2 SE or V1 Duke.

I think that's part of what Marvel Legends stand for though, is being comic accurate and realistically detailed. Otherwise people would say something like I want (insert 6" super articulated toy line here). Marvel Legends specifically because for the most part they're true to the source material, and they're not anime looking.

Personally I'd like a better 3 3/4 type figure before going to a new scale, there's no rush to do marvel legend joes, the longer we wait the better they'll turn out do to technology always improving. I mean compare the '82 joes to the '84 joes, even just a couple years could make a whole lot of difference.

No dr. venom

No red DTC hiss repaint

No sigma six style 3 3/4" Cobra Commander, (those samples are gonna be prized peices for sure.)

No grey 2004 Firefly repaint.

Dr Venom and any more comic packs (and cartoon packs) look to be off until 2007

The red Hiss was not a repaint. It was the original proposed design until Joe went to the DTC line. It was then determined to go with classic colors as the line was aimed at collectors.

This figure may still see the light of day. Probably not until 07 though.

The Firefly repaint was scrapped due to the comic pack Firefly using the same camo pattern.

What was also said is the only for sure determination for the 25th line will be that it is 3 3/4". Where the speculation of a Marvel Legends scale comes from I don't know.

Ah, I was just wondering about that.

So Hasbro did say YES to possible more Comic Packs in '07?

Or is this all speculation?

Any info on ComicPacks would be appreciated

Thanks

Look at the price on this..... 57.99 !!!!!!!!

@loll@

Must come with a bible or something.

If everybody buys one of these for that price, until all have been bought, then he will "save" and "resurrect" the 3.75" line.

They said that they want to put out some additional comic packs BUT really would like to put out some animation packs. (re: the cartoon series)

I could go for some toon packs. Would love to have some characters like Flint, Duke and LJ in toon colors.

Draven

They really did not say those characters, they stated that they would want to put out characters that were in the cartoon but never were put out as a figure etc.

I would prefer also they get their acts togeather in the 3.75" line instead/before moving to a ML style line. However I seriously doubt Hasbro will make ML Joes. They were asking fans before Sigma Six if they would like to see a ML style line of Joes, people were crazy for it and they went with Sigma Six. So I think Hasbro (with GiJoe at least) tends to give people just a lemon when what they are saying is they want a full glass of lemonade.

I would of prefered a ML style line instead of the Sigma Six line. I would of picked up some ML Joes, whereas I won't pick up any Sigma Six figures.

Hopefully if they do this "anniversary" figure, they will put some effort into it and not half-a@@ it as they did through most of JvsC and VvsV.

I agree that HASBRO will not make ML Joes BUT I have to say that I liked some of the figures we got in VvsV. (some of them IMO were pretty freakin cool). I am really wondering what they have/or are working on for the anniversary and we can only dream that the line will be pretty awesome.

Thats Great News about the Cartoon Packs.

I really hope they do that AND continue the Comic Packs.

There is so much potential for both.

That makes me happy that they would want to focus on obscure or never before made figures.

It really shows that they are not just making the quick buck with DUKES and SNAKE EYES.
