Great coverage as always Jay! I'm glad to hear Hasbro wants to recognize the 25th Anniversary as well. Can't wait to hear what's in store.

The plans for the 25th anniversary is "the most articulated Joe ever"

That means there making a big 'marvel legend' type JOE,

Kinda like the Anniversary Optimus Prime.

I was hoping for something 3 3/4'',

BUT im jumping the gun, because im assuming its a larger scale.

Assuming only makes an ass outta me and you @smilepunch@

Actually, "assuming" only makes an ass outta you and Ming (the Merciless). @smilepunch@

To "assume" makes an ass outta you and me, though. @smilepunch@

I say sure make them bigger, ML scale I would prefer but at this point Hasbro does better with the 8 scale than 3 3/4 so if it came down to it I'd prefer that scale. I HAVE no faith in the Joe sculpting team to do 3 3/4 on a consitant basis anymore.

I remember all the crap they had at the Hasbro displays when I went to the convention in 2003, it was awesome...

man, GiJoe must be sinking faster than we thought if that is ALL the product they have planned.

no! not 8 inch classic figures... c'mon Hasbro, stop being stupid

and they are being stupid how?

fact is there is no proof that Marvel Legend 6" Joes are truly in demand. sure, there is the vocal online group, but that doesn't neccessarily equate to a large consumer base that will actually buy the product. and even if the demand is greater than I give it credit for, I am willing to bet it isn't greater than the amount of children who are going to view the 8" Joes as its own toyline, not a rip-off or imitation of ML.

it is more detrimental for G.I. Joe as a brand to simply imitate other toylines. and no, S6 did not imitate other toylines, even if it adapted a style that is more popular today. the product, as a whole, is different than any other action figure available. G.I. Joe has to always be seen as something different than what is available, that it has to offer something that other toylines do not. ML is 6", thus G.I. Joe is 8", so that Joe isn't ever confused with other toylines. imitating the ML line is bad for the brand.

in the long run the image of the brand, and sales, are going to be served much greater by keeping it seperate from ML than the sales it will receive if Johnn Adult Toy Collector can play with or display his Captain America and Duke figures in the same scale.

if that is not what you meant by Hasbro stop being stupid, I apologize.

Are'nt there going to be anymore Comic Book 3-Packs coming out? I hope they haven't decided to stop making them because they were pretty much the only G.I. Joe figures I've been collecting for the past couple of years.

I agree, but at least the Viper set kicks ass.

I don't see how they could think S6 is selling well though to justify giving it more attention than the 3-3/4" line. It's rotting on the pegs in every store I've been in.

I agree. But I doubt even Hasbo is thick enough to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 3 3/4 figures... by making them 8 inches. Hasbro aquired the rights to Takara's Microman body... I'll bet it's something along those lines.

Hasbro's Dwight Stahl to tell us was that there would be something released for the 3 3/4" line for G.I.Joe's 25th anniversary. What exactly that would be, he would not say, other then it would be the most articulated Joe figure made to date.

I am concuring with Mighty on this one ... Im willing to place money that The anniversary figs will be utilizing the newly aquired Microman model ... and if it goes over well at the market then that will be ther future of 3 3/4.

Can we stop with anecdotal evidence as 'proof' of anything?

Hasbro has already said that S6 is going well.

Y'know then I want to know why is it that Sigma Six is so well stiocked that it seems to never leave the shelves when there is difficulty stocking Star Wars figures, ML, and other such lines. Never before I have I seen such a selection of characters in one store so well stocked with every character in the assortment. And these are bigger too so there would be more consideration on what gets a nice ratio and what get s short-packed. Atleast that is what is told to us RAH fans with vehicles.
