What is keeping Hasbro from doing a re-issue of a Viper in v1 colors?

Many of these questions, I have posed on the "Ask Cobra Commander" Q&A:

 

1. 8" Sigma 6 females: Scarlett? Baroness? Jinx?

 

2. 8" Sigma 6 Zartan: Normal paint apps? Translucent/transparent version(s)? Color change plastic? (Please don't use the rotating-head gimmick from the Force Battlers Palpatine!)

 

3. 3.75" Billy (a.k.a. William Kessler) in figure form?

 

4. What is the status of the secret Cobra mail-away exclusive figure, as mentioned in the "Ask Cobra Commander" Q&A section of www.gijoe.com?

 

5. What is the status of the FHM contest winner's (Luke Ellison) Joe figure release?

7. How long will it be before we see "core" characters (i.e. Cobra Commander, Firefly, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, etc.) released in 3.75" form again? [most concerned with the S6 styled CC and the urban camo repaint of the VvV Firefly.]

 

8. How long will it be before a "new-style" Dreadnok Buzzer is released, to accompany Dreadnok Ripper, Dreadnok Torch, and Dreadnok Monkeywrench?

 

9. What's the likelihood of seeing Joe characters represented in Marvel Legends 6" style, given the recent acquisition of the Marvel license by Hasbro?

 

10. Approximately two-thirds of the Marvel line of Joe comics has yet to be revived in TPB form. Possibilities of seeing these re-released?

 

11. What are the plans regarding making the unreleased episodes of the Sunbow GI Joe cartoon available on DVD?

Hasbro has answered the Female Sigma Six question before.

 

Because Sigma Six is targeted to kids (young boys in particular), it is well known that most female figures DO NOT sell well and Hasbro does not want to take a shot in the arm and release a female S6 character....at least in the 8-inch form.

OK. I have an obvious one:

 

If Hasbro has access to molds (or parts of molds) such as Decimator, Air Viper, Sky Creeper, Frag Viper and other molds that have seen only one release or have not been released, Why do they reuse the same molds over and over again in the RAH six packs and Comic packs?

I know we would never get exact numbers but:

 

1. How do sales of Sigma 6 compare to the peak sales of 3 3/4 inch since 2000?

 

2. Have they succeeded in getting the sales out of Sigma 6 that they expected, which would justify the fact of dropping 3 3/4 inch (from retail) for Sigma 6 was a good idea?

 

3. Has Sigma 6 sales reached the point of sales that would help "boost" or "continue" the production of 3 3/4? At this time last year, it seemed that the effort Hasbro was going to put into 3 3/4 inch was always going to rely on Sigma 6 sales. Of course, this question may be answered as soon as one looks into Hasbro's display cases.

Have Hasbro's past answers been pretty lacking? Or even a bit dishonest?

 

Really, if Hasbro wanted to give fans info, they'd update ASK COBRA COMMANDER at the website or do the Star Wars weekly questions thing.

hasbro doesn't care about the secondary market....they are releasing the at-at for star wars which will pretty much kill the secondary market for potf ones

Hasbro didn't need the ML license to do ML style Joe figures, so why would getting the license precipitate this? it doesn't make any sense as it is irrelevent. ML license would apply to ML characters, not making a highly articulated 6"figure.
