Ratner confirms Sentinels in X3?

I've heard numerous rumors for the last year that they would be in it, but this is the first confirmation I've seen:

 

Ratner on the Sentinels: "I've been able to put stuff in this movie which, for some reason, Bryan [singer] wasn't/ The Danger Room, the Fastball Special, and also the Sentinels -- it's really hard to make a robot a character. All these things weren't in the script until I introduced them."

Seems like a lot is going into this one then. Sentinels and stuff. It also mentions angel and the cure, and some 'emotional' stuff with him, Is apocalyse gonna be in there too with his four horsemen as well?

Doubtful. But they should consider making another trilogy that centers on Apocalypse

in a future setting.

I hope the Sentinels are introduced to lead into a 4th movie. They keep saying this is the last one but there is no way Fox walks away from a cash cow like this series. I just think some of the actors (eh hem...Halle Berry) want to move on after this.

i was checking out a site the other day and they showd a sketch of the sentinel. it didnt look exactly how you think it should but it was still very cool looking. it also said that the sentinels are a 3ft robot and that it looked so good that they would just use that not cgi. i'm assuming they are just going to make it apear 30 feet tall instead of 3 feet using special effects. either way i'm excited to get sentinels in the movie

I wouldn't mind seeing humans that turn into sentinals like that one comic ... that would work quite well I think .... how ever the tec for that would be a bit too high for a movie like this... plus they have not really introduced normal sentianls yet sooo...

 

allso I think apoc would make for a good x4 as well, depending on if this one is good or not...

This is what every X-men fan has been waiting for. It would take a lot for me to be disappointed in seeing Sentinels no matter how they were done.

One thing I am worried about, WHAT IF the sentinels are just in the Danger Room? Theyr'e just made to be part of the Training. That would tick me off something fierce! I want the Sentinels to be real. They are created to capture mutants and expose them to the cure or something.

Isn't anyone worried they might have TOO MANY characters in this movie?

 

I love Dark Phoenix, Sentinels, and somebody dying (maybe), but cameos from Omega Red and other random people might make this as chaotic as X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse.... (some off-the-wall characters)

 

If they brought Alan Cumming back as Nightcrawler, I wouldn't be complaining as much; he made the 2nd film for me. That opening scene sucked me in, and I don't know if that will exist in the 3rd movie. Callisto or Psylocke? Not so much. Colossus, okay. As long as Cudmore doesn't open his mouth like the guy playing Sabretooth in the 1st movie.

 

I love speculation. Might as well expect Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse in this movie, along with Blob. @bananna@

Yeah I agree here, all these extra characters and plot devices means there is a chance that the general telling of the story could suffer. I'm hoping (though I don't expect) that this film isn't just all about the "I know that name and power of the mutant on the second row back fourth from the end", but I'm not that cynical, just concerned how all these wonders that have been told to us are going to fit in this film. I did think about apocalyse being in this, as mentioned in one of my earlier posts, what with angel and 'cure', but then there is the possiblity that they could do what spidey 3 'supposedly' is doing and have the villain of the next film introduced at the end of this film.

 

Regardless, I'm looking forward to it, as all you guys are too.

I kinda have to agree with you on that CapMan.

 

If it is true that Ratner is throwing in these random cameos, it seems like he is more concerned with pleasing diehards(heh, i'm one) than actually putting effort into a solid, well-made X-Men movie. Although i am a huge X-Men fan, i'd prefer a movie that doesn't go overboard with the comic characters. It is one thing to handle it that way in the complex world of the comic, but it is difficult to do the same in a movie.

 

Despite the speculation though, i am looking forward to the movie and the previews make it look appealing. I'd like to see Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler again too, but they replaced him with another blue, agile mutant in the Beast. @smurf@
