gambit uses his own power, & I think I've seen wolvie with a match but thats about it, pretty funny actually now that I think about it :D

Its kinda surprising that lighter companys like zippo have not tryed to cash in on this market heh

Pretty Impressive,

Is that Free hand? Your own design?

You seem to have a pretty good grasp of anatomy & muscle structure….

that's good for your age reminds me of myself at that age, just try not to promote something like smoking. Tell you what you do, at twelve your just starting and if your really interesed at this drawing deal then remember what I tell you. When you are able to just think of something off the top of you head and create it, its the most challenging yet rewarding ability anyone can have. If it wasn't for drawing I would have never got through school, yeah cuz that all i thought about was drawing and the teachers knew that they could use it to my advantage. now your good but later on you could be great kid keep up the good work.

and dont give into "how to draw" books you gotta learn the hard way, like me hehehheheheh......

Great start M7o7. Here's a couple of suggestions. Vary line width. Look at comic artists you like and you'll see that lines vary in width to give the character weight. This makes a BIG difference in the appearance of a piece of art. Also, study shadow's & light sources... if he's got a strong light source in front of him ... like a lighter... he would have more detail towards the lighter and less as it gets to the darker areas. This will give mood to the picture.

KEEP DRAWING... and don't be afraid to copy other artwork from out of comics and try to replicate them because that will help you learn to vary line, vary shadows etc... By copying others, it will help you learn and you can apply what you learn to your original work.

It is certainly better than anything i could draw, but as long as you keep working on it, you'll only get better. I think it looks good.

Listen to him!!! He knows what he's saying. At your age I drew like an @$$ so I decided to look at other artists I liked, e.g Bruce Timm (he's one of the masters imo) & Adam Kubert. Then I drew things from Mike Mignola, and learned lots on body anatomy + ilumination. Thanks to this my art skills are quite a pass in my future art A-level.

And most importantly, like many people in here said... KEEP PRACTISING/DRAWING

actually, age IS a factor. that is really good for a 12 year-old. in fact, it's good for a 20 year-old.

as for the smoking "controversy", don't let anyone censor you. art is about depicting realism and your emotions in your medium. wolverine would smoke so you can draw him smoking. if we start restricting childrens' freedom to express themselves in art, then my god, what kind of hell will we end up in?

I would also suggest studying the basics (anatomy, proportions, etc...) from the dreaded 'how to draw books'; you need to understand the basics to avoid any 'mistakes'. ;)

That said, I remember what my work looked like at age 12 (or, for that matter, 13, 14, 15...), and I'm really impressed. :)

Here's a QUICK example of line variance. I just quickly traced your lines to vary them a little bit. I didn't get into shading or shadows but the line width is varied a little to give it a little more weight.

As for wolvie's smoking... even he, in the comics has told Kitty not to do it. He's got a healing factor and can't get cancer.
