For those of you who have v1 Roadblock...

For those of you who have a v1 Roadblock, what do you find about him that's appealing to you? I think his large torso makes him look good, the pants aren't too bad, and his accessories were indeed great. Other than that, I can't seem to think of anything else. It seems he has more weaknesses than strengths.

Those all seem like great reasons to like the figure - just what kind of weaknesses are you talking about? I think it's great... And his character was pretty popular on the TV show.

I wish we'd see more Roadblock these days and less Heavy Duty - he's just a Roadblock wannabe.

Yeah. Pure nostalgia. He was a big player in the cartoon. I had him and agree I'd rather see him today than Heavy Duty. Why did they write him off to begin with?

V2 was a better sculpt. But I like V1 mostly due to its what I played with as a kid. I must have taken that character everywhere.

Agree v2 is a better mold but by the time he came out I quit and collected other stuff.

In 1984, the V1 Roadblock was a good figure. In 2001, it was still a good mold. However, now, Hasbro has used it so many times that anything good about it is obscured by its incredible overuse. As a kid the V1 Roadblock was one of my favorite figures. Now, I can't stand to look at it since it's so common.

Orange-ish pants or no, V1 has a much more military look to him than V2 (which is also alright, in my books). Therefore, I like him. Sure, a lot of it is nostalgia for the character, but I'm not about to not like the original figure just because it's been used a lot.

I had the 2001 repaint in my collection for a while, but eventually got an original 1984 v1 a few years ago. I had the Tiger Force repaint and version 2 as a kid, and always liked the v1 mold better. As far as the colors of v1, the subtle camoflauge on the tank top is one of the best paint jobs in my opinion. The orange pants detract a bit from the figure, but the backpack with a spot to attach the tripod for the 50 Cal is just an example of some of the best accessories those original figures had.

And Black Zarak is right.... he's the body massage machine.....

Who wants a body massage?

I like him. He does need some better arms. I was thinking of making a custom using the original colors with the new comicpack Head sculpt and putting the muscular comic pack StormShadow arms on him. I've made an LBC before and he looked awesome but I haven't painted the arms yet. I'm scared at painting, not much of a customizer.

Two words: "Body massage!"

You beat me to it! :D That's exactly what I was thinking. On a serious note, I like the v1 figure because of the cartoon, I never had this figure as a child but got it a couple of years ago. That outfit is my favorite version of ol' Roadblock.

Well, I think the Battle Corps version was the best one. His arms were the most imposing old sculpt arms he could have.

Slaughter's are better, I think.

At any rate, just think of V1 Roadblock as the version of the character before he got serious about working out!
