Joe vs Cobra to Spy Troops to Valor Venom?

I'd have to go with Valor vs Venom. Hasbro really seemed to be on a roll and had some great figures with this wave. To bad they didn't continue with RR. I think that might have been the new scuplt golden age if it continued.

As a concept, I still like Spy Troops. It had some really nice figures as well as an interesting blend of new characters. The sculpting wasn't as sharp overall as the VvV stuff was, but that's to be expected due to the timeline. I think Spy Troops were more a jump in quality over the JvC stuff than VvV figs were over Spy Troops, though. The Spy Troops gimmicks were lame when the failed, but they also provided some cool accessories for many figures when they succeeded.

I feel that, from a pure concept and creative point, Spy Troops was the high point of the modern Joe line. You had the gimmick, which even if the end result wasn't great, still had some grounds in logic and fit the idea of GI JOe. In addition, Spy Troops had a very nice diversity of characters, both new and old.

But, I feel Valor vs. Venom had a better overall toyline with superior vehicles and MUCH improved consistency in the figures themselves, regardless your opinion of the designs and color choices.

That's a hard call....... are you meaning in which they originated in ?..... cause alot of the Spy Troops Cobra Molds came into VvV.

True. But there is an obvious evolution. Do you think this happened due to poor sales with the previous lines or was just simply a matter of time. AND why go from 3.75" to 4" then back to 3.75" for example?
