Looking for a good batman figure

Of what's currently available, here are your top choices:

1. Attack Armor Batman/Bat Signal Batman (both great figs, both pretty highly articulated)-unfortunately, they were only released overseas by mattel, so you're going to have to go ebay on those.

2.DC Superheroes Batman (mattel's new line) pretty much the same as bat signal batman, except blue instead of black, and slightly less articulated. widely available, probably your top choice if $ is an issue.

3. Zip Line Batman (mattel's original batman line) just a great sculpt, somewhat lacking in the articulation department, but a great figure nonetheless, still available at many comic shops.

4. Hush Batman, DCD, yes it's artist specific, yes, it's not very articulated, but it's pretty much what Batman has looked like in the comics for the past four or five years.

hope this helps...

(Or you could just hold out for the batman from wave 4 of mattel's current DC superheroes line, that looks to be definitive.)

I'd say Zipline Batman and/or 2003 Comic Con BAtman (classic oval blue and grey) Those are my favorites. The Mattel giant ones with the opening utlity belt rock as well.

I have to say, DC has to many different takes on batman to decide on a perfect one.

Now if we were talking Nightwing here, Hush Nightwing all the way :D

Hmm... really hard to decide.

I think Hush Batman looks pretty decent. And since DCD released a repaint version for the Secret Files Batman its not hard to find.

If ur really looking for a Dark Knight version of Batman, long ears, grim looking. I think either the Attack Armor Batman from Mattel or the old Kenner Legends of the Dark Knight figures will be what ur lookin for.

cheers!

Well, Except for the odd posed left leg the DCD Hush Batman is a pretty solid figure. As is the Ross Justice Batman (But I personally think both of those are too artist specific)

From Mattel - Theres both overseas released figures-

Attack Armor Batman - He's a hyper articulated (21-23 POA) blue & gray Batman...but he has a very small head. The other overseas released figure is Bat-Signal Batman. It's a great figure. It's got 19 POA. Basically it's Zipline Batman w/ more articulation and a working Bat-signal. But they're pretty hard to come by. So you could get the Mattel DCSH Batman. It's a blue and gray version of the Bat-Signal Batman with a rubber cape (minus the ball jointed neck and bat-signal accessories) Or you can wait for the next Mattel DCSH Batman that was just featured in the latest Lee's...As that looks to be the best figure to date.

Attack Armor Batman, but with a Hush head will make you very happy. However, ebay is the only way to get him. The Mattel ones in stores now are pretty cool if you want it quickly. Wave 4 will also have probably the best Batman ever. I think he's kind of a Frank Miller-esque version too.

Is there a picture of this wave 4 Batman...??

You should probably ask Matthew Green - he's the resident authority on Batman figures....:P

LOL... Iam pretty sure he can't just point to one Batman figure. The man loves em all!

I think Hush Bats doesn't fit very well with the rest of the DCD line, he's Lee's, not the traditional version. I think that the giftset Bats is the best we got so far. But I'm still waiting for a decent Batman.

Found a cool looking bats figure on ebay.co.uk - zipline attack. Looks good.

Been looking through the DCD bats figures. Some are bit poor, and others, like PJ said, are abit 'artistic' I'm looking for a good looking rendition of him, so although Frank Miller is a coolio interpretation, isn't the type of style I'm looking for. Just a cool looking figure. These are the ones I've seen;-

Silver age Batman - not interested

Kindom come series 2 batman - nope

superfriends batman - not wanting a 60's 'campy' version

Batman Japanese imported figures batman - this is more like it, more presence, more darker

Hush - I like the head, but again the colours are a little bright for me

First appearance - well...I love bats, but not that much

Batman:The Dark Knight Returns - He's huge! and although he's stylish, not a definitive for me

Batman Japanese imported figures series 2 - again I like this;dark, has presence, more sinister

Imported Japanese imported figures by Kia Asamiya - see above

Batman Hush series 3 - nope!

Imported Japanese Batman Figures Series 3 - yep!

JLA Deluxe Action Figure Gift Set - looks good, but not as good as the japanese series'

Superman/Batman Series 1: Public Enemies - the head is good, but bats would never be that big!

Justice League Alex Ross - Series 2 - again, love the style, but not too keen on the figure

Imported Japanese Batman Figures by Kia Asamiya Series 2 - look at him, he's dark, sinister looking, forboding, almost evil.A good rendition.Having said that 'evil batman' in the same series looks no way near as good.

Elseworlds Series 1 - No! no!

Batman: The Long Halloween - Bats looks good here, head is abit wierd, and colours are too light

Secret Files: Series 2: Unmasked! - Bats/bruce have a good shape, good colour and both the heads look really good. Like alot.

Batman: Knightfall - not definitive at all, tho does look good.

Identity Crisis- Series 2 - He looks wrong, his torso is out of proportion to the rest of him. Bad colours and not liking the bat sign either

Superman / Batman - Series 2 - can't really see him in the pic, so thats putting me off

Elseworlds Series 2 - again, not definitive

Batman: Dark Victory Series 1 - the head is really bad, and he's abit too chunky for my liking.

Obviously these are just a few of the ones out there, and theses are just DCD ones, and of course, just my opinions of them, you guys will have different tastes to how you like your Bat served.

I didn't actually see these from the official site, I prefer to view them on

Joe Acevedo.com

This site displays them all better, with a year by year list of what has already been released, and dates of forthcoming releases.

I suppose the next stage is seeing how I can get hold of the ones I liked the most, them being the japanese imported figures, and the secret files version, which was already suggested by Cloud. Anyway, thats my opinions so far - what do you guys think?

Yeah Hush Nightwing would def be my definitive one

Well the Elseworlds Thrillkiller Batman is cool looking, but not a definitive Batman at all.

Plus if you have other DC direct action figs, he is way out of scale with them.

All the Elseworlds figs are too tall to look good with regular DCD figs.

I am waiting for this green one personally.

DCSH Wave 4 Bats can be seen on any ToyFair page with Mattel. Try Actionfigureinsider or the Fwoosh.

From what you like and how many you have looked at.....Get Attack Armor Batman off ebay. He might cost $30 or so, but he has an awesome sculpt, awesome articulation and eprfect colors. The Hush head fits on him well to make a perfect Bats. Though you will have to paint the Hush head for a seamless fit. He is the perfect 2002-present Batman. IMO

Think I'm liking the look of batsignal batman more than attack armour batman - I like the colour more than attack armour.

Will have to look see if I can find one on ebay.

Will still look for the japanese ones tho. Something about the style of those darker looking bats that I really like.

The Japanese ones look pretty good. As long as u dont mind the prepose style they're actually pretty kool.

My favourite is the Kia Asamiya series one Batman. The one holding a batarang.

the JLA gift set Bats really sucks, it just looks awful. Dont really recommend anyone picking that box set.

The DCSH bats is almost identiclal with Batsignal Bats so if u dont wanna spend too much on a batman fig the DCSH bats should be a nice one after u repaint it to the color scheme u prefer.

I'm with thr group that says there hasn't been a definitive version yet...some are good, but nothing definitive yet. I'm actually thinking of getting a second"unmasked" version and attaching that plastic cape to my Mattel Zipline Bats...and that might be as close as I'll get for the time being.
