Series 7 Apocalypse now comic-accurate?

I don't know if anyone's been reading Milligan and Larocca's X-Men (my condolences if you have), but there is something noteworthy that I caught while flipping through it.

Larocca has apparently joined the ranks of the geek elite. His interpretation of Apocalypse is that of the Marvel Legends figure. You can see it clearly in the page I posted below. If you look through the issues already out for this arc (don't read it, it'll make your head hurt), you can see that Larocca even adopted the 'chunky' look of the figure.

So it appears that, retroactively, the Apocalypse figure IS comic accurate. Maybe it's only amusing to me, but I thought it was worth a mention.

Yeah, I only put 'Series 7' in the title... guess I should have been more obvious in the text. :)

Anywhoo, if you look at the two issues (again, I don't recommend reading them, Milligan has no clue what he's doing), it's incredibly obvious. The ribbing on his arms and legs, the chunkiness- he even has the raised shoulderpads in some panels.

As for what apocalypse normally looks like, his standard look is much more streamlined and thinner (at least around the middle):

That's his old Handbook entry.

Actually the series 7 Apocalypse has always been comic accurate. That was the way he looked in the story acr of the Twelve where he supposidly died.

Any pics? I can't seem to find any on Google. I know the big hullabaloo when Apoc was released was that people didn't like him because he wasn't comic-accurate.

Of course, they're saying that now about Hydro-Man, so I totally believe that you may be 100% right here.
