Man oh man oh man, i just got an email from MasterCollector with detailed images of the new stuff. There is good news and bad news. Good news the vehicles look kick ass.....too bad they aren't scaled for 3 3/4 size, the bad news the figures are semi articulated it looks like. They have t crotches.....and they are articulated with pre positioned poses. So in other words if Snake Eyes arms are bent in a grab my sword pose only his legs and arms move up and down at the shoulder and the tcrotch and his head moves left to right. Again the vehicles look kick ass. Also saw the new Sigma 6 Firefly...alot of people are going to be dissapointed. I kinda like him and it looks like he mighta stole the S6 suit technology since he is wearing one. I wont post pics outta respect for Jay C and the crew. If you PM i will though :)

Im just looking and looking at these things and it looks like some of the figures may have knee articulation. its still kinda hard to tell.

I like the night ops V.A.M.P. and the Firebat...although the Firebat looks nothing like the original

The Dragonhawk is the best out of the bunch

Yes, the vehicles are definitely awesome! Even the Thunderwave boat is pretty cool. I would love to have all of those. I am not sure if I'll get the figure sets or not. They'll just be cool-looking on a desk or as part of a display, ya know? Still, the Dragonhawk and Firebat are A W E S O M E!

I actually think this trend is MORE about appeasing the collectors, than being practical for a kids toy.

Collectors will buy a toy to keep MOC, and buying a box of accessories isn't very interesting to them. A "kid" will get the cool figure they want, and have mom & dad buy the extra accessories to "gear'em up" at an affordable price, and beat his buddy down the streets Duke figure, by having the extra gear for him. (I can still think like a kid ^_^)

Collectors want the package unopened and containing each and EVERY version (even if its an exact figure, but with the most minor of variance in paint or an accessory) and they'll buy the Duke in arctic gear and scuba gear and night ops gear etc...! That's more impressive in an adult collectors MOC collection of Sigma Six toys, than ONE lonely Duke MOC with a bunch of boxes containg gear only, displayed MOC along with it.

Toys are declining in popularity with kids, not ONLY because of the computer age upon us, and the video game craze, but because the toys are becoming too expensive and considered a "ripoff" by the adults expected to buy them for their child. Obsessive/compulsive spending habits of the adult collectors has jacked up the price points on these toys and how they're made available to us, and this multi-variance crap is only one way it's demonstrated.

If a parent is going to spend a ton of money on something, they're going with something worth it, like the video game players, and computer stuff, than the ultimate COMPLETE collection of action figure toys, with multiple Dukes, Snake Eyes and Heavy Duty's!

The toys may still be for kids, but the marketing strategies behind them are leaning towards the collectors, and that's the most damaging thing here. Or so I'd say...anyway! ;)

WOW the sets are pretty awesome, the firbat is killer and so is Cobara COmmander. As for Firefly, some people will like him and others won't (as usual ;) ). Just think with these 2/1/2 figures what 3/3/4 could of looked like suck as the night ops vamp, I will definately be asking at the roundtable if they ever think about bringing the line (corss over) of sigma six but in 3/3/4. Hopefully we will get to see more pics before toyfair is over.

The scale of these sets has been noted as a nod to the huge appeal of Megabloks and other Mini-type toys.

The various Megablok sets have 2 1/2" sized figures, and the appeal of stuff like Heroclix means this is a new popular kid trend.

With detailed vehicles and figures capable of some posing these could do quite well.
