Deathblow & a couple of WIPS

Here is a custom that I finished a little bit ago, but haven't really shown until now. I was a huge fan of a few of the Image: Wildstorm titles back when they came out and Deathblow was my fav. I've been longing to do a proper custom of him, but the parts were lacking until I got my third Mjr. Barrage.

 

The mods for this figure are not really evident, and subtle. I cast the had of a 21st Century WWII Airborne Paratrooper in resin, modded it to fit this torso, added a set of Heavy Duty do-rag tails, removed the hair, and then sculpted the rest of the headgear on. I also cut the tabs off the vest, and added the ribbing on it's edges, and filled in the knee-joint. A side note: in addition to the one he's carrying, he has 4 other knives on him (overkill?...nah).

 

I deliberately chose 5 very similar greens, and came within a whisker of painting him in black/white/grey like the original artwork (which I've included for comparison). The only changes I'll be making are to add a Marauder Inc. M-249 SAW as soon as they are ready.

 

The next peice is going to eventually be Keel Haul, but I've yet to decide on whether he will get the original colors, or the battle corps colors. Also, is the first actual finished color sample of the FCS, and bare chest casting with the alternate silver logo (glider pilot). Enjoy, and comments are always welcome!
