Just got the last MC blast email.

"We will have a announcement about the convention tomorrow. "

There ya have it folks. Let's start takin' bets now!

I wonder why I didnt get that e-mail. Can you post it here? All I found at the Club message board was a post from Brian S. on 12-22-05, 6:37PM:

Question: Any chance of hearing before Christmas?

Answer from Brian: "I am trying. Press releases are at Hasbro now for approval but they close the week after Christmas so keep your fingers crossed."

This is from my webmail account, so the date/time stamp (especially the time), seems funky to me. Once I get a chance, I will fire up my Outlook client on my home PC and see what it reads for the time sent.

Sure is....and as of 12pm EST no announcement.

Seems like consensus is Texas. It is more then 90% safe to say anything west of Denver (left that for you Card!) can be ruled out. I can see them re-annoucing New Orleans....but ya never know. The clock is running! We shall see.

WEAK!

Hello cmderinchief!

As promised yesterday, here is the first official information concerning the convention:

The Hasbro International

G.I. Joe Collectors' Convention and toy show dates are June 29 - July 2, 2006.

For everyone working on their vacation schedule for 2006, make sure you save the week of June 26th. The exciting location will be announced the first week of January. Registration forms will be available by the end of January.

We are going to be adding/changing some of the events this year.

The first one we want to announce is a "Wheels for Joe" contest. I have noticed that there are a ton of RC vehicles for sale both in 1/6th scale and 1/18th scale this year.

While you are doing your post Christmas shopping pick one up and customize it for Joe. This contest will have 2 parts: 1. An obstacle course you have to drive around (Joe must be inside or on the vehicle, legs are optional).

2. Joe's Chop Shop where vehicles will be judged on their uniqueness, Joeness, paint scheme and customization.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

Brian

@hmmm@ They know the location, they just want to make us wait till January? Why?

Yeah, seeing how Sigma's in....and G.I.Joe is OUT, that would be pretty obvious! @haha@

WTF! Not family oriented enough?! I live here, and as well as a million others...Just because of a stupid motto...There are tons of family things to do here and alot of casino/hotels catering to families...We all dont live in strip bars...However, sure do visit them often..hahaha...but thats besides the point...

Well screw him...Someone call me at Little Darlings...So I guess we should just have the cons near the "bible belt"...

No kidding, it's gonna be the first ever Sukdik 6 Convention. There will be no Gi Joe convention.

What does that add to the discussion?

Humor!....for all the anti-Sigma Six folks? @smilepunch@

I guess after all these years, you just kinda have to concede to the fact that not EVERY post, is going to be 100% on topic, relative nor conducive to the discussion at hand.

Some of the most memorable discussions have been a whole lot about nothing! ^_^
