Override Gets A Pedicure!

Someone at Transtopia mentioned that Override's headlights were molded in clear red plastic and painted gold.

 

Sure enough, they are. More of a pinkish plastic, really, but painted they be.

 

I tried removing the gold paint with brush cleaner, like I did with Alt Wheeljack's blue stripes, but it really didn't wanna come off. I ended up using a sanding stick to remove the paint, then sprayed the parts with transparent candy-apple red.

 

Behold!

 

 

 

Now I'm wondering if I should repaint her face. The orange just gets lost in the red.. I'm thinking silver or copper. Maybe bronze.

Next time try useing isopropyl alcohol to remove the paint. I have noticed on every Transformer I customise. Alcohol removes the paint.

Yes, it does.. but I've also heard horror stories about how it'll melt the plastic...

That's really cool.. definitely get rid of that orange & make it silver... And those stripes need to go as well. But that looks nifty

Go with copper for anime accuracy.

 

The only substance I EVER use to remove paint is testors paint thinner, small bottle, item number 1148. It's a magic chemical...Customizers should stockpile the stuff.

 

All paint gone. No plastic harmed. Ive actually had it condition the plastic.
