Then why did you all vote for this w/o knowing all the facts? They're gonna be the 2' scale non-articulated diorama so enjoy it all you X-fanatics! BWAHAHA!

Someone sounds bitter.

Me either, only cause ya had to register though :)

Hey if its jim lee & x-men though I'll buy it either way :D

6" plastic staues sculpted and painted with the same level of detail as ML figures and I'd get them....but if its like the FF Mole Man statue I would pass.

The FF 'figures' looked so cheap, I guess only time will tell if thats how the Xmen set will turn out too.

Yup, I'm waiting to see how the line actaully looks .... & how much they cost as well before I decide on anything truth be told .... If there only around $5 or so then sure ... I'll get the x-ones :)

I didn't vote for this because I got the sense it was going to be for something OTHER than a actual "Marvel Legends" wave/line of articulated figures. That sense hasn't diminished and even if it does turn out that they are posable figures.......the choice is one that I'm very lukewarm on.

Most of the characters depicted on the winning cover have already been made and thus the whole "surprise" seems redundant.

Far from it. I just find it amusing that the majority of you would vote for more X-characters that we already have figures of when there are so many that have yet to be made. And considering that this is most likely gonna be based on the 2' scale FF Diorama "Masterworks" line, I'm gonna laugh when all of you that voted for this start crying & saying you didn't know what you were voting for or that you thought it was for a ML 6' scale wave dio.

Not better, just a tad smarter cuz I would wait till I have all the facts clearly stated about exactly what I'm voting for & not just assume I know what I'm voting for. Also I wouldn't vote for a bunch of characters that TB has already made when so many others have yet to get the TB ML treatment. X-fans are very selfish & care nothing for those of us that have yet to see some of our favorite non X-characters that have never been made get a chance cuz all they vote is X this & X-that.

Yeah, that got me away from voting, LOL. We are d@mn lazy people.

JOhnny @smilepunch@

I'm not lazy I just don't thinkI should have to "sign up" to vote its 100% pure cr** because the only reason they want me to sign up is to get my information & email! :S

Oh for the love of God, people voted for what they know and liked....DEAL WITH IT.

Why would anyone vote for something that they don't like when they can vote for something they do like?

I'm glad that cover won and I hope they are made into a boxset with all new sculpts. I liked the old 5 inch box set first appearance X-Men and would love to get them in 6 inch. I doubt these are just for busts or resin statutes. Somehow that just doesn't seem likely.

As far as rigged voting goes, that is entirely possible. And it could be done within the rules of the contest with weighted voting. Anybody who registers and votes, like us, would get one vote. The votes of Marvel management could count for 1,000 votes each. A democracy, this ain't.

Maybe cuz there are already figures of those same X-men made? So you would rather have the same character made just cuz it's gonna be in a different costume than to have a chance to vote for a totally new, never before done character?Whatever, they're still gonna be for the 2' scale diorama "master piece " crap statue line, so enjoy X-fans.

As a X-Fan you can say we are crap if you want. You just don't like that we are the majority and we win, haha. I figured we were getting a dirama based of the news of the FF dirama. I still voted X-men #1 cause if they make it good i still may get it. If anything else won even if it was good i probably still wouldn't get it.

No matter what we get I will be happy. The contest was choose the best cover. Even if i don't get what ever they make i am happy the best cover one. I probably would have voted for that cover even if they had stiffer compition (meaning those covers surly weren't the best marvel had to offer). It is a great cover and Jim Lee is top 5 in my book.

Ughh...

I can't stand Jim Lee. IMO, he's a horrendous artist.

All of his character's faces look exactly the same. In addition, he has no grasp of human anatomy, and has vividly created whole muscle groups that simply don't exist. His characters are also consistently over-muscled, or, if female, possess ridiculously over-endowed chests with little, narrow waists.

He also has a "stock" pose that he constantly puts his characters in, especially for covers...chin up, chest out, shoulders forward, arms bent at the elbows, hands clenched in fists, and one leg bent at the knee and resting on a rock or a ledge. If the character wears a cape, the fists are always clutching the cape...a VERY cliche' 90's pose.

I realize this puts me at odds with a lot of folks on this board who grew-up reading comics in the 90's, and think Jim Lee is good. Sorry if that offends, but I think he sucks. He's exemplary of that entire wave of "Image"-type artists, very few who actually had any classical training in art, including studies in human anatomy.

I figured this image would win, as this board is heavily populated by "X-babies" of that era.

In addition, if this imager is the winner...does that mean I get to look forward to another Hulk, another Wolverine, and another Deadpool??...Oh, happy day...

Jim Lee stinks.

Is there any doubt this was to be the next wave for the crappy Marvel Masterworks line? They likely scrapped it when zero sales (other than people buying them at 75% off) were seen from the FF and Spidey ones. But...if this idea were resurrected...a ML style Jim Lee X-Men set would be a must buy!!

Mine would include the following characters...

Cyclops-the only way I'll ever buy a new Cyke

Jean Grey-that's what her code name read back then

Rogue-a major player in need of a new sculpt

Wolverine-b/c they're required by law

Colossus-a very Jim Lee looking Icon was just unveiled a SDCC

Storm-even if the FA version happens, I'd take a JL Storm over the TB version

Alternates:

Jubilee-likely the only way she'd ever get made

Acolytes-same deal for Cortez and/or Delgado

haha your posts are turning into a running joke of ranting about every topic. Is there anything you don't hate? I bet John Byrne, George Perez and Todd Mcfarlane are also pathetic artists huh? I hate their kind, they stink!

John Byrne: He was a great artist back in the 70's when he debuted at Marvel. Check-out early editions of "Iron-Fist" (both in his own mag and in Marvel Premiere), and you'll see what I mean. However, he's a prime example of wisdom (or skill) not improving with age. His penciling has definitely deteriorated in the last 15-20 years...personally, I don't like his current work at all.

Todd Mcfarlane: Sorry, but if you were expecting me to be a Mcfarlane supporter, you're going to be disappointed. I put Mcfarlane in the same category as Lee, one of the Image "Wunderkinds" who, IMO, can't draw worth a damn. I've never liked his stuff...ever. But I don't think he's losing sleep over that...

George Perez: Like fine wine, he improves with age. He was great back in the 70's on Avengers and Fantastic Four, great in the 80's on Teen Titans, great in the 90's on the Avengers ("Hero's Return"), and he's great today. One of the best, most prolific artists ever in the biz, he'll be remembered up there with Kirby, Kubert, Everett, Ditko, Kane, Romita, and Buscema when he finally hangs up his brushes.
