Since all of Target has the same computer system...

 

I'M GOING TO TARGET!

EDIT: I've just figured out why this happens:

 

The box has the same DPCI as the figures, meaning this works for every case of SW figs!

It did it because the case ....every case that comes off the trucks has a sticker with the bar code to scan to see if it can go to the floor or be backstocked.In this case the cashier knew nothing of this label and didn't open the box until Bishop pointed out to her

The only exclusives I have not opened is the holo Yoda and Celebration Vader. They are hanging on my wall looking pretty.

Clones are especally fair game!

No doubt about it, your the good guy. I know myself, I'll screw any store over or anyone over given a chance. Hell I've done it to Superstore, to comic shops, to anyone. If I get the advantage. Takes a man of conviction to do what's right.

I was able to leave and go to the westbank to drop some $$ off to my wife (for her new tires) and while I was over there I stopped @ Target.

I gave an employee in toys the DCPI for the shadow trooper and he went to the back and brought out 2 cases. He asked me if I wanted both and I told him no just one (My three.. yay.. and the rest have already been split up with my local collectors group).

Here is the clincher, he tells me to have the cashier scan the box and not to open it.

Well I go up front and she scans the box and it rings up for the 12.99 price tag.

**NOTE**The entire box rings up for 12.99.

 

I could have been a shithead and bought the whole case for $12 thus screwing the store out of that $$$ (and messing up the computer system since it would only reflect one being sold).

But I am honest so I told her to hold on while I opened the box so she could scan each figure.

Yeah I could have gotten them for a major steal but that is not the honest way to do things..

 

I am sure some will say I am stupid for not taking advantage of the situation and I know of people that would (locals mind you) but I am not that kind of person.

Am I a fool? That depends on your honestly level so before any negative comments are thrown around, evaluate yourself closely and really think of how you would have reacted to the situation.

 

And before anyone asks, I do not have any extras as I have already delivered them to the other local guys.

If I can get more I will offer them here for C+S

 

Actually its not dishonest, its called business. If they want to give an entire case for that price thats their perogative. I personally dont have space or that much of a desire to have that many though. A case of special slave leias now thats a good score. LOL since it doesnt exist its a nice thought. You could have easily got the case and sold the rest for the retail price. thats still being honest because alot of this stuff can be hard to find. Call it exportation of goodwill.

Yeah but they did not want to give me a case of 8 at the price of one figure, one employee did (a simple employee not a manager or the owner of Target) and I honestly do not know why he told me to do that (is he mad at his job?? I dunno).

 

And yes, since everyone else has commented on it I guess I was showing good judgement and honesty as not to screw them.

I mean I never really sat there while it was happening and evaluated it, it happened and I reacted nuff said.

Nor do I anymore. With ROTS I have concentrated primarily on Clones. I do have a few of the other figs though.

You should have lied, cheated, and stole. Just kidding. I think you did the right honest thing, considering you were buying a whole case of them HTF figures. Is it 8 to a case? Knowingly getting $84 of stuff for nothing would be pretty dishonest. If the differential was only $10-$20 or so, then that wouldn't be too bad. Or maybe if you didn't notice the mistake until after you paid and went home, then I would have said don't bother going back for the price correction.

yeah, i see the good ness in this, but look at this also. the figure costs $12.99. these figures are just like the rest that cost $5. You don't think hasbro and george lucas and target combined are not raping us?? they charge so much because they can. i say, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I would not feel right doing this especally considering the situation (I did not know what the employee's motived was) and honestly it is not the honest thing to do.. Maybe it is just me.
