Not harsh at all. There are a few people here that like to enter every Sigma 6 thread, knowing that they hate the concept/figures, and bash away or try and stir up trouble. It has gotten rather old and childish.

 

Why not spend that time posting about the Joes that you DO like instead of moving into these threads like a black cloud with the intent to ruin the excitement for others?

What is the matter does the truth hurt. It will be a cold day in hell before I let that peace of crap toy get away using G.I.Joe real American hero. Like I have said if they would have just created a third line like the way they did with Star Wars. I would not have said any thing and just have gone away. I am upset because I have not been able buy a single set of that on line stuff while Sigma 6 gets paraded around like it the queen of Sheba. There is not one reason why Hasbro could not have put all three sets of action figure out. It did not stop them doing Star Wars that way.

 

I think Sigma 6 would have had a chance if Hasbro had been fare about the whole thing. They have treating Joe fans like crap for years. I do like the line just verily, yet just the way thing are being don ticks me off.

I wouldn't ahere to that feeling on the matter too strictly, if I was you. If you find ANYTHING appealing, or interesting, in these Sigma Six toys, I wouldn't let "spite" or forced indifference to them, stand in the way of getting them or checking them out, just to somehow try and show defiance to Hasbro about it.

 

For one...it won't make any difference to them (Hasbro) and two...it will only deprive yourself of something you MIGHT actually kinda like, since you've shared for us, that you "like the line verily" (?)

 

I don't like the way things were handle either, but if I had even the slightest of interest in the Sigma Six toys, I wouldn't hesistate to buy them up. I've never taken much interest in doing something out of spite, to try and "show them", or something to that intent. I've been unhappy with the way things were handled or implemented even with the 3 3/4" line, but that never stopped me from getting most of the stuff anyway.

Exactly. It's not that they hate Sigma 6 (I'm not a big fan myself). It's the the constant disruption of Sigma 6 topics and the questioning of who's a "true" joe fan (gimme a break). It really just borders on trolling.

That's a difficult one to determine anyway. Am I a better (truer) Joe fan, for having discriminating tastes in what I collect, or is somebody else who loves and wants to collect MORE than what I would chose to, a better (truer) fan?

 

There's a postive/negative spin that we can all put on ANYTHING to suit our own agenda or opinions. True Joe fan or not, is pretty silly in reality anyway, but that doesn't stop me from using it as a tool to ruffle some feathers of those I decide to pick on with it. @smilepunch@

 

Unfortunately, there's those that are more serious about it, and actually meant it, and put me in with "bad company" when the funnin' and foolin' around starts up.

I think the ribbin' and the joking stuff is okay. That I don't mind. What I do mind is when people invade threads about Sigma Six with a bad attitude and negative opinion, and dominate it with berating and negative debate.

 

I'll use Viper Hunter as an example. Now he does carry on and has openly admitted not liking Sigma 6. I like to aggrevate him about that, just like he likes to aggrevate those of us that like Sigma 6. BUT...there are times when he actually tells us WHY he doesn't like it in a constructive way. That's the difference. It's the asinine "You're not a true G.I. Joe fan if you like Sigma Sux crap!!/Sigma Sux SUX!!" mentality that gets my goat that some people around here perpetuate constantly. And like I have said and others have said lately: It's getting old.

 

I can see some people getting upset at Hasbro for trotting out Sigma 6 with enthusiasm and maximum effort after being so spotty and inconsistent with the 3-3/4" stuff. And it's totally way off base compared to what we're used to seeing from G.I. Joe. I can understand that frustration totally. But that's the very reason some of us like it. And don't blame those of us who do like Sigma 6. You can't take it out on us for liking it.

 

I personally would like to point out the bright side of things for a change; I think that this is the greatest time of all to be a G.I. Joe fan/collector. Why? We've recently had the Timeless Collection for those older fans that grew up with the original G.I. Joe. Those of us that grew up on ARAH have the Master Collector stuff, along with the TRU exclusives and comic packs, not to mention the advent of eBay that affords us to hunt down the older stuff we missed or want back (even though it can be expensive). We have the GvsC/Spy Troops/VvsV stuff still floating around, and now we have the great DTC stuff along with Sigma 6 that appeals to both kids and some of us older collectors. We even have a pretty cool new show to boot. And a major motion picture version of Joe is on the horizon.

 

I think we need to stop and remember why we're here in the first place; to have fun sharing stories, memories, and news of G.I. Joe, not to berate each other for liking different aspects of it. Differing versions of G.I. Joe can't dillute what G.I. Joe means to you, and it's gonna mean something different to everybody.

You don't know what ya got till it's gone! Maybe it's the realization of "nothing lasts forever" that makes some of us so cranky in our demanding ways with this stuff and the fear that it will all be gone before we get EXACTLY what we've been wanting MORE of, or to get as YET?

 

Patience and trust seem to fly out the window, in our eager anticipation and sometimes...disappointment of it all.

I love the Transformers and look how much down the toilet that line has gone. Do not take me wrong there still some great Transformers toys out there. The story line behind it kills it for me. As for Sigma 6, it is toys it is just the opposite. #US1#
