Sweet. Still love that Med-Alert. Looks better and better every time I see 'im. Same goes for the rest. LOVE the weapons!

And...Low-Light is a blatant repaint of Chief Torpedo minus the Wave 7 Snake-Eyes arms, but I still love the figure.

See, I shoulda waited to see good pics before I passed judgement. I like all of them. Even Dreadnok "X" looks cool.

I'm liking them much better upon inspection of these great pics! Sure there's still some "meh's" and even a couple of "hmm's?" but I like the mix and mesh of old parts and some new, and if any one of us fans and customizers had put together these same figures, we'd likely be expressing plenty of "oooh's and awww's" over'em. ^_^

Yeah..Hasbro could do better, but I see the effort, and I don't think it's getting less, I think it's getting more.

Oh boy, here we go...time for coffee. =>

Glad to see some pics.

Thanks!

Gotta admit the SAW Viper looks pretty hard.

Medi-Alert: Who's face/head? Not bad. Lifeline here we come.

Grand Slam: warming, but Red Spot still has it locked. Too much Bazooks/Zap appeal.

Cobra Trooper: A little tweaking...but if one hoards in the teens, how many customs will you want to sacrifice?

Monkeywrench: Boots in all Black look sick. Trench is different but awesome. The rest...we'll see.

Lowlight: Nah. I'll prob pick up one for the arms and weapon to custom.

Never mind actually, ninja tight arms won't do.

I'm diggin the new accessories though.

hmmmmm...

pretty disappointed with these, but I'm gonna get the comic packs most likely (the DD pack for sure) so new stuff is coming out that I like anyway along with these...

cobra trooper - pretty lame but I'll buy this one because I want to use the range viper head for a copperhead custom and the helmet for a CC custom.

grand slam - not even a new head?? great use of the torso but without a new head and helmet.. wait, does he even have a lazer? i'll pass...

med alert - very odd choice for the helmet but it looks new and quite nice to me. the head seems new too.. and that "scar" above the lip gives him a lot of character. If it has a nice head underneith the helmet I may pick him up.

low light - they should have done a new head. i was REALLY excited for a new low light figure but.. haven't we ALL made this custom? Yeah.. I thought so.

SAW VIPER - if they had made a new head I'd be excited but that looks like rollbar underneith... and that helmet is weird if u ask me.. very Corps looking. I'm gonna buy an original SAW viper instead.

Monkeywrench - excellent head!!! very cool jacket and weapons! They even have the right color pants. I think I'll buy this and use the head on an original Monkeywrench body if it fits ok. I'm so glad this wasnt a burn out head repaint.

So unless Med Alert ends up having an awesome head, I'm gonna get the trooper and monkeywrench, the DD comic pack and possibly the other comic pack.

Overall, a bit weak but with the new cobra commander showing up on ebay and that nice firefly repaint too, I bet the next wave will be much stronger and filled with newer sculpts... most likely the comic pack with Lady Jaye too!

Funnys!

BTW, looking at these reminds me of the old days. They did pretty much the same thing with the reuse of parts. How many times did we get the same head, legs, etc. Not justifying it but realizing. This could be the opportunity to improve instead of repeating the same trend. Gijoe could be greater than it was with more effort.

Grand slam one of my all time fav's and look what they did to him!!! this i think is a bigger slap in the face then "double clutch!" they should of went with his silver pads and a jet pack!!!!and really what! is that a goatee or what is it? looks like he was lookin for love in all the wrong places! the others really are pretty good if i still collected new sculpt stuff i would pick em up for sure!

Well, it's just nice to see I was wrong about some of the parts (Lowlight's arms, Troopers head, Monkeywrench's head), but it seems I was correct about the BTR Torpedo head, and Blackout goggles. I'll be picking them up, but I'm not that excited about it. Med-Alert is just, yech for me.

BTW, thanks for staying on top of this JayC!

I like these alot. All except Grand Slam, his puke on cobra action feature isnt for me. A little work and he'll make a nice grand slam.

The Torpedo repaint is a bit of a bummer, but he really does look different enough.

The soldier looks better every time I look at him, the straps bug me a little but thats fixable.

That saw looks great, not like the original but someone new, guess I can keep both.

Life-line...errr Medi alert(like ill call him that) looks very cool.

Monkey Wrench is my fav of this wave. I want multiples, I love that trench. But then again im a sucker for Noks.

These pics make this wave look far more appealing. I'm actually digging Monkeywrench now. His head is pretty cool and burly. The jacket does well to hide any reused parts. I like the T-shirt slogan. I just think Blackout's arms were too distinctive to be reused. Not bad though. At least he looks like a biker.

Nothing and I repeat...nothing...can make Med-Alert look good. Well, his new rifle is cool. This guy is staying in a drawer.

I think the Cobra Trooper might actually look better without the helmet. It'll be nice to see him without it.

Grand Slam looks fantastic! He keeps getting better. His stubble looks a little off, but not everyone can grow a perfectly even beard (I'm speaking from experience). I know a lot of people are screaming for him to have a jetpack, but let's not forget his first figure came with the HAL and his specialty is Artillery. This figure works, especially if you put him in a vehicle manning a heavy weapon.

Lowlight also looks amazing! I like the reuse of Torpedo's body. The only downside is the VvV Wv SE's arms. I hate those hands! It will be cool to pose a sniper in an aiming pose, since he has wrists now (a must for all riflemen especially snipers).

SAW isn't too bad either. I hope he can hold his gun with the butt under his arm. The ammo case is a nice touch. My only gripe with him is his visor. I think it's point should be at the bottom of the visor, not the top. Otherwise, he's not bad.

Let's not forget one of the coolest things about this wave. 2 New Vehicle weapons! This is one of the most exciting things for me about this wave. I love new accessories. Getting 2 new weapons (Cobra Trooper and Grand Slam) that can be attached to vehicles is very cool, especially since the ROCC has so many empty weapon ports. Nice touch, Hasbro!

I still think the S6 is a little more inspired, though. I love both lines and can't wait for December!
