all I know is I'm not buying any transformers ever again, unless I can examine it in person first. Even ebayers with 4000+ feedback can't be trusted

Yikes. That sounds like a very drastic solution to avoid potential disappointment. This Prowl auction only included one small photo in a rather dark environment so I'd recommend focusing on eBay auctions with multiple photos taken from different angles in an illuminated area from now on. When the seller doesn't have a personal interest in vintage toys, they're often a poor judge at objectively identifying condition.

i emailed them about it of couse, said I wanted my money back minus the fee's they got hit with when I sent them money by paypal. I don't expect them to re-pay me fee's they lost on, but I would like my money back and I'll pay the shipping to return the toy to them.

definatly not what was described. just look at the pictures I took. I couldn't even restore this if I tried, its just too beat up

Expect a FULL repayment because it's not what you paid for. Don't let these false-advertising bastards get away with anything.

Yep you were definitely decieved and ripped off. Give them a neagtive and let them know that they are being reported to Ebay if you don't get a refund.

From the auctions pics everything looks in "excellent condition" but that's certainly not what you got.

And there's definitely a bublle inside the box on that auction pic.

actually thats not a bubble in the pic, its a reflection.....look closely

yeah, ebay is a great thing. You shouldnt let one or two bad experiances stop you from using a wonderfull purchasing tool. I have been very lucky to only have one.....scratch that...two bad purchases on ebay. Both were shipped very fast and packed well but the pics or descriptions were bad. The first was an autographed mini Eagles helmet. It was one of my first autograph purchases. The ad said that it came with cert of authencicity so I figured "cool, sounds good". There was no pic just description but the guy had 1200+ feedback and it was 100% +. Well I got it in the mail and the Mcnabb auto looked ok but the TO auto was way off. I had something auto'd by TO personally before so I knew exactly how he signs and it wasnt even close. I later found out that on ebay you can list "certificate of authenticity" even if it is self made. I can scribble COA on a post it and it would count. Any way I didnt leave a neg feedback cause he didnt leave feedback after I paid so I didnt want him to leave retlitory feedback. I did leave him a neutral and wrote that the signiture was horible and didnt match up with one that I had received personally from same player. After that (I was bad) I emailed several of the bidders from his auctions and filled them in. 4 months later I looked at his feedback and he had received a ton of neg's since then @firedevil@ .

The second bad buy was a G1 Sunstreaker. It said excelant cond and the pic was low quality but everything looked good in it. When I got it I noticed that it was real dirty, the tires were all dryrotted and the silver booster was painted with what looked to be a silver nail polish. I was pretty mad but it was from a person who knew nothing of TF's they were just selling some of their kids old toys. However I was able to restore it. I got a new set of decals, fresher tires, and I removed, stripped, and re chromed booster. It looks pretty dang good now :)

Since those 2 ruff experiances I've learned a ton about buying over the net and have become a lot smarter about what questions to ask and am getting pretty good at picking up on BS descriptions/auctions.

I've had a few bad ebay experiences. Most of the time, the sellers are willing to work with me. I have a model kit to send back for refund because they were unaware it was painted on a little bit. It was listed as "open, but the assembly has not been started".

Only time I got really ripped was about 3 years ago. I won a G2 Hero Megatron from a seller in Cananda. He had no negatives at all in his feedback. I promptly paid with Paypal. I kept waiting and waiting for the item... After a couple months, I got his personal contact info from ebay and called the number. Some guy answered and said he was not that person and had been getting lots of calls recently. I checked his feedback again and he had about 20 negatives and was no longer a registered user. $26 down the toilet.

Only negative I ever got was retaliation from a deadbeat bidder. I gave them the full 90 days, emailed repeatedly. Got no response so I filed non-paying bidder. Buyer finally emailed me saying she couldn't afford it. I had to leave a negative. I'd have been more understanding, but why wait until non-paying bidder has been filed to email and say you hit hard times? She left me a negative back saying "I told him I couldn't pay, I tried to make it right." I'm sorry, but just saying you can't pay and stiffing me with the ebay fees does not make it right. The only way I can get my fees refunded is with non-paying bidder and negative feedback. What a loser....

Reminds me of the C8+ MISB Predaking I got a few days ago. Box was pretty beat up for a "C8+" and the first layer of tape was broken. There was a second layer over it. And this was from a guy with 100% rating and craploads of feedback!

Honestly, I think integrity is becoming replaced by the urge for a quick buck. I'm glad I don't collect vintage though, given that Prowl. Yes, you deserve a full refund, accept nothing less! #US1#

The sad thing now is that when you buy something or win something, they tell you right away they won't give you feedback until you give them feedback first.... i was like #WTF# I paid them for the item, so my part is done, now leave me feed back for being a prompt ebayer...but NOOOOO, they want to see how you feel about the item so if you leave neg. feedback, they can slap you back with some @bs@ neg stuff.

SO while I wait nerviously thinking something is wrong with the item, their conscious is clean.... SUCKS @grumpy@

I always leave feedback right after I ship the item.

when I sell something, and the buyer makes payment. their side of the deal is done, and deserve feedback right then. Not after only afer they leave me feedback.

if I get hit with a negative, then I deserved it, cuz even if something goes wrong, I'll do what needs to be done to keep my buyers happy, either by giving them a refund, or whatever. ya know.. if I mess up, they certainly shouldn't have to pay for any of my mistakes. IF I make any :P

Thats exactly what they do, they want to intimidate you into not saying anything negative in the feedback you leave for them. I hate that! In my experiance those sellers who dont leave feedback imediatly after I pay are usually the sellers that pack their stuff poorly, are slow to ship, or dont comunicate. Ebay should should track the payments through Paypal and penilize the sellers who dont leave feed back before 72 hours. When I sell an item I leave fb as soon as the money is in my account or in my mailbox and that is the way it should be.

hey, how about a set time limit for sellers to leave feedback after payment has been made..

then if they don't, Ebay generates a possitive feedback automatically :)

also you know in the my ebay area... where you can mark items shipped.. THAT should show up on buyers "my ebay" as well. then I wouldn't have to message everyone when I ship something. they could just go to "my ebay" to check and see if it's been shipped or not

And this is exactly why I have never dealt with eBay!

I hate taking the chance I'll get screwed! Better off just dealing with people in person or online stores you can trust, like BBTS. Or I did, until they went to that new format!!!

Oh well.. *hugs Mike*

I hope you get your money back buddy.

I love ebay! I have had very few, almost no problems with buying from ebay. You have to learn how the ebay system works and know what to look for to make you a smart ebayer.
