What Was Your Favorite Year For Joe Figures

For me it's 89, first year I got joes, and first year I have clear memories from. Things from 88 were still around so I got alot of them aswell, and from there it went on. To this day, Muskrat, Recoil and Downtown are my favorites.

My Personal fave is the 83 vehicle line, 1984 is basically tied with 83 in my book, but I had gotten into Joes in 82, and 1983 showed whatcould be the true potential of this toy line, and gave me hope for the years ahead, so I'm just gonna say 1983 was the beginning of the great ride that is RAH GI Joe.

I thought and still think these were some of the best vehicle concepts and designs ever to grace the RAH Joe line: my faves, from least to most.

11. The PACRAT Triplets:

Nice little cheap vehicles for when you were too cash strapped for a figure, these were still nice wheeled missle launchers to lob at Cobra

10. JUMP and Whirlwind:

The JUMP was rad, who needs sound effects buttons? I needed a glass of water after making all those fwoosh sounds. The whirlwind looked great getting towed by my vamp...take that Tonka!!!

9. Falcon and Viper gliders:

I loved these, they lasted about twenty minutes before disintegrating, but what a fun twenty minutes they were. Didn't hafta worry about holding on to these puppies, let 'er rip, and watch the chaos.

8. S.N.A.K.E.:

1st mech suit ever! Awesome idea, easy way to bulk up the cobra ranks by hiding joes inside the suits.

7. Wolverine:

missles galore, Cover Girl, another tank for the ranks, who doesn't need another tank?

6. HISS:

Awesome tank, room for two baddies to take on the MOBAT, great figure

5.Polar Battle Bear:

One of my faves, of course my brand new Snow Job fig needed a snowmobile, he couldn't survive in the bitter artic without it! Nevermind it was usually parked at headquarters and he still had his snowsuit on while everyone else had on some thin short sleeve fatigues. Still, it's a freakin' weapon loaded snowmobile, alright by me, thumbs up Hasbro.

4. Dragonfly XH-1:

awesome action feature, very realistic design, figure was a nice mold with a lot of character. Red-tipped wings were a nice touch

3. APC:

Great troop transport, the gun on top looked great, tons of pegs for the figs, awesome look with the came, Joe logos, and a bad ass lookin' front windshield. Plus, the pull out bumper was a nice hidden feature, as long as your figures were strapped in, it was a great handle for carrying my collection around.

2. Headquarters:

The 1st and greatest Joe headquarters, big gun in the front, bitchin' computer console, plenty of room to park the vehicles, and the best part: JAIL! Time to show the baddies who's boss. When I first saw this at a buddies house, I was blown away, it was HUGE!! Plus, it was easy to break down and store, hence the easy availability of these complete with boxes on the 'bay. Great Playset, one of the first 80's toyline headquarters, and still one of the top dogs.

1. Skystriker XP-14F:

Before the Terrordrome, before the Flagg, THIS was THE Joe vehicle/playset to have. Everybody wanted one in 1983, everyone wanted one BAD. A realistic jet fighter that's almost as big as you, that can hold a couple of joes including Ace, that can paruchute to safety if they spot Cobra (or your big sister) coming down the hallway? I've been to mach5 my friends twice in my life, once while shaving, and once, running full speed with a skystriker in my chubby booger stained fingers.

I loved the fact that 1982 Cobra had like two guys.I know that you were suppose to get more than one Cobra soldier and Officer.Hasbro did expand Cobra quite a bit.I wished that Hasbro made the Baroness from the first GI Joe comic and cartoon. With the blue jumpsuit.
