So it's about $12 USD then. Not bad.

Too bad with shipping to the US the price still comes to about $20.00 though.

The US dollar is stronger than the Canadian dollar so $9.92 Canadian would be like $8 USD. Not only is it dirt cheap but there are lots of Tracks and Meisters!! Damn you lucky Canadians. Oh well, at least we'll have DC, Prowl, and other new alts 1 year ahead of you guys. @loll@ @firedevil@ @smilepunch@

Actually if you go to the currency site that Synch listed it shows it's not $8, but more like $12, just being nitpicky @smilepunch@

Hmm...you sure you did it right? Because when I tried it it showed $8.36. Under "this amount" you should put 9.92. Under "of this type of currency" you should select Canadian (CAD). Under "into this type of currency" you should select United States (USD).

I did it and got:

9.92 CAD

Canada Dollars = 8.36216 USD

United States Dollars

I also did:

9.92 USD

United States Dollars = 11.7681 CAD

Canada Dollars

1 USD = 1.18630 CAD 1 CAD = 0.842960 USD

So, abraxsis, you most likely converted 9,92 from Us to cad instead of cad to us.

Well if I'm paying a Canadian to send me the figure then it is US to Canadian, isn't it?

yes, you would give the Canadian guy/gal US dollars, but you would give him/her $8.36 USD which in turn he/she can exchange for $9.92 CAD. You can certainly give him/her $12.00 USD but then he/she will use only $8.36 of it to buy the Alt and pocket the rest. @smilepunch@

Doesn't make any sense to me. See why I never buy from anyone outside the US?

think of it this way. $1 US dollar is worth $1 US dollar.

$1 canadian dollar is worth $0.81 cents US

so for every dollar you send a canadian, with the exchange rate, the canadian gets an extra $0.19 cents.

when you're exchanging it backwards.. you take off that $0.19 cents. So if I send you one dollar canadian. you get $0.81 cents US

It works this way because our Canadian dollar isn't worth as much as your US dollar.

also keep in mind the exchange rate is constantly changing. one day our dollar up here might be worth $0.81 cents US, another day it'll be worth $0.76 cents US.

there are lots of different currencies around the world, all of which are worth more or less then others.

so again, if a canadian sends you a dollar, you get $0.81 cents

if you send a canadian a dollar, they get $1.19

it sounds confusing but it isn't when you understand that the canadian dollar isn't worth as much as the US dollar :)

it's pretty simple... They have to Pay $9.92 CAD

you cant give them CAD.. so you have to convert it, to convert it an dfigure out what $9.92 is in CAD you go to the site.. put in $9.92 in the spot, and convert it from CAD, to USD.. 9.92 CAD

Canada Dollars = 8.36726 USD that way you figure out how much to send them... so wen you send them the $8.36726, when they get it an dconvert it, it becomes the $9.92 that they need for the Alternator...

Now granted, you'll have to give them more, cause of Taxes and shipping, but that's just going by the actual price ;)

just be lucky it's not Indian Rupies:

9.92 CAD

Canada Dollars = 374.799 INR

India Rupees :o

As far as I know, about the only currency stronger than the US dollar is the British pound. So pretty much whenever you exchange 1 US dollar for any currency in the world, you'll get more than a dollar back in whatever currency of that country is (again, except for the British pound where you'll get less than 1 pound back). If you have $1000 USD, your a millionaire in Vietnam if you convert it into the Vietnamese currency. @loll@

The euro is stronger than both. And overall, I dont see what the problem would be for paying even 25usd for a meister, I shoudnt have a problem, in fact I'd pay that + S&H, because thats a figures you dont the everyday in the stores.

Euro is stronger than the US dollar, but still weaker than the british pound. 1 euro = 0.68 pounds.

oh yeah, whenever you go to a country where the dollar is much much stronger than said country's currency, exchange your dollars for the local currency. Most of the locals will except the US dollar but they will ask for more than it would cost if you paid with the local currency because they probably figure you don't know what the exact exchange rate is. For example something that would normally cost 10,000 dong (vietnam currency) which is less than 1 USD, they will ask for 1 USD. You would think, wow, 1 USD, how cheap. Which probably is cheap but your still paying more than the locals. @loll@
