Hehe. Actually after seeing them in person I don't think they look that bad. Even though I've been thinning out my collections (except DC Direct...which continues to grow) I have considered picking up one Sigma 6 figure just to check it out. But for $15 I'm not sure.....yet.

The packaging is really nice. I've seen all of the first series of figures and I like the look of Storm Shadow and Duke the most. I dunno. I don't really want to start collecting another line just as I'm purging many others from my collection. Time will tell.

I'm kind of getting tired of the 3-4" scale of figures (in general) and really have taken a liking to the 6-7" scale. Sigma 6 doesn't really fit either so.....? I checked around yesterday for a Storm Shadow, but he was the only one I couldn't find. I guess I should've picked him up when I saw three of them at TRU last week.

Glad we both came over on the same time. lol It was the same day we both admitted it to each other! @loll@ But yeah you shoould at least try out Storm Shadow! He looks great and I am hoping to pick him up tonight! :) Errrr my gf will actually as I am broke but you all get it. lol Plus Jase you could just wait till the $10 ones too. As I will get Duke, HD, etc in that form. But definitely give them a try. The quality is really, really good. Its sad that the 3 3/4 Joes do not get this amount of pride but into them.

Draven

What are the differences between the $15 and $10 figures? I assume the accessories and/or case? I really like the look of the case.

Did Molly hit the lotto? @lol@

If Talking Dukes are any indication....just wait awhile and you'll be able to get all these $15 versions (with all the accessories) on clearance for $7.99.

It's a good thing Talking Duke pretty obviously isn't any indication.

elaborate....if able?

A majority of sigma six figures aren't duke.

Dude, you're comparing apples to oranges here.

A one shot 12 inch figures to an entire line of figures. Don't let your personal dis-taste for something completely cloud your judgement.

That's some good advice...and could be turned right around on YOU! Don't let your personal bias cloud your ability to see the bigger picture.

My statement was logical and likely right on the money, with regards to what's going to go down with the Sigma Six toyline. Comparing the over abundance of 12" talking Duke sets, was certainly relevant.

For ALL the things I see fans of Sigma Six raving about, I see right here on this 12" Duke figure.....minus the over stylized APPEARANCE of the S6 Duke.

I see lots of gear and accessories, and some removable garments, with all the points of articulation to make him easily poseable, plus he TALKS!!

Yet, if we're to count on the "kids" to start buying up this Sigma Six stuff...I just don't see them looking any harder at it, than they would have THIS 12" Duke figure. If you want to be so damn technical and argue inches or characters, that's just lame. If anything is to be said in Sigma Six's favor, it's the cartoon/commercial/advertisment for it, that could push it up and over the 12" Joes like this, but I'm thinking the kids won't buy it anymoreso.

When the collectors have had their fill...the S6 will clog the shelves, just like ol' bulky, lame-o Duke here.

That duke is like a barbie. S6 isn't as much so. And as previously stated it is one figure, even if people buy it, they won't buy more than one. They will by multiple S6 figures. Plus it's duke.

Arguing points of inches. <_<

Why so? Collectors bought one of those talking Dukes for their collection, and they'll buy a S6 Duke for it as well, but they won't buy 2 or 3 of them anymore than they would have the 12" Duke. The collectors aren't the ones that will drive the line anyway, and we're discussing the buying habits of the "kids" who are anticipated to jump all over this 8" stuff NOW, and I'm here to tell ya...I don't think they will.

Plus it's duke.

Arguing points of characters. @haha@

I brought those up in my previous post.

No. Duke's size, sculpt, and amount of clothing make him like a barbie.

Sigma six is basically just like any other action figures. Maximum clothing the have if any one piece. Either pants or a vest.

Collectors won't buy 3 dukes. But they will buy a duke, spirit, snake eyes, storm shadow, and heavy duty.

LOL! good point VH, but i think its the one thing talking duke doesnt have that the kids will love and thats the look (that you hate so much) my thinking is these S6 guys wont be huge like a tickle me elmo X-mas gift of the year huge! but i think they'll do enough sales to keep em' around awhile, if you consider hasbro kept JvC (in all its forms)on the pegs for like 5 years and they those sales sucked? (witch i dont buy for a minute!) kids will dig thse IMO but thats just me!

on a side note i found sigma six tonite at TRU...they had em all and i picked up Duke as of the 5 characters i like Duke the most, im tinkerin around with him now, kinda fun! accessories are chunky, the figure it's self is just swell! reminds me of some figures i picked up on KB clearance one time years back called Zone raiders or riders? cant remember. in all the pics ive seen online i was expecting these guys to be huge! i think i was alittle shocked that they seemed small to me? and thinner then i thought? good lookin figures to be sure! if they toned down the muscules in the legs a touch i would like them more!

sigma six certainly aint the crappiest toy on the market!

I don't even know how to respond to that. You're just being f***ing stupid at this point.

Yeah, and at the price they are, mom & dad are likely only going to buy ONE (of those you listed) for junior and if lucky maybe one more.

Collectors always buy multiples (for various reasons) and definitely at least ONE of everything, that's why it's called a collection, but again..it will be the parents who are buying their kid a toy, that will decide the fate of these 8" clunk monsters, and i still think their ignoring of the 12" stuff (like my sampled Duke) is going to happen the same with S6.

The $15 versions of S6 will see some major clearance sales, unless Hasbro pulls the short pack thing and only produces a few at a time, but I don't think that's the plan.

Well I do agree at that price point, that parents are less likely to buy them for there kids.

That's more like the Interpol I figured you were. Just stick with the cutesy one-liners, because if you're ever asked to elaborate, and articulate your opinions....you have no clue of HOW.

Your last comment is about as in depth as you can strive for apparently?

Exactly...and that was what killed the sales numbers on the Talking Duke figure. We can argue about the size and style or the particular character being sampled here....but the BASIC elements of an action figure TOY for kids, are all the same on the 12" Duke or Sigma Six Duke.

What the S6 fans will argue is that the extra 4" makes such a difference, but to who..them or the kids? They'll argue that the new stylized look and anime inspired appearance will also make a big difference. Maybe.

The kids can "WANT" till the cows come home, but if the price ain't right...they'll sit and gather dust on the shelves, till clearance time comes around, and that doesn't even seem to be helping poor ol' Talking Duke.

That damn stupid idea probably only assisted in the entire WASH of all that was Joe before S6 was introduced! @grumpy@

Fine, then let me articulate.

You are comparing a one shot toy - a 12 inch talking Duke, that really never got any commercialization outside of the booklets that came with the VvV toys, (I don't know how much they were exactly, but I'm thinking $20) to a $15/$10 line of highly commercialized toys.

Like I said, apples to oranges. Sure, they're both GI Joe toys, but they're two completely different beasts. Maybe if Sigma 6 was a toyline composed completely of one toy of one character with no cartono, no nothing like that - maybe then you would have some basis for comparing the two.

Right now, all you're doing is saying, "Hey, I hate this one thing that flopped, so let me use that as justification for saying this other thing I hate is going to flop".

How much advertising does a DUKE toy really need? Any kind of G.I.Joe related material more than likely has DUKE on it, whether it's the little mini comics, kites, birthday cards, pens, playing cards, games etc...

Most of the 3 3/4" Dukes are GONE from retail, but that 12" guy is all over the place and stacked to the roof almost, at all of the TRU's I venture into.

And as far as your decision to articulate your opposition to my opinions...THAT'S MORE LIKE IT! ^_^

It shouldn't have to be like pulling teeth to get folks to be a little more specific and EXPLAIN themselves, when that's only being respectful to begin with. I go out of my way to be as articulate and specific in my comments, so nothing is left to question (although it still is).
