Wait............ is that a unpainted gotee on Footloose...........is that Shipwrecks head???????? Dammit if they lied about it not being his head I will be pissed. I will hate the damn fig again. lol

Draven

Well I wouldn't say its a "Perfect HISS" I still have issues with rockets launching off just inches from the gunners head... That gunner would look like Michael Jackson doing a pepsi commercial. Still I like the tank a LOT.

The sides of the goatee painted flesh... That is so nasty, that makes my stomach churn. ugh, the first real DTC stinker. That saddens me......... I mean that is really really tacky. Eww......

Well here are my comments on each of the figures:

Snow Serpent: I definitely enjoy the Snow Wolf mold immensely. It's so much better than the JvC mold and I think this figure beats the original RAH version.

Footloose: I knew the parts looked suspiciously familar...they're from Shipwreck without a doubt. The head does look like a Shipwreck head with the beard shaved off. I bet I could do an easy LBC if I can just find the right head.

Barrel Roll: I don't think this figure can ever beat the original, no matter what paint scheme you give this guy. Judging by the colors, I would say this guy is a rock climber like Alpine rather than a sniper like Low-Light.

Salvo: He and Barrel Roll are using completely new sculpts, which I like. I think the missile launching weapon is a good idea for him because then you can watch him take some COBRA baddies out.

Major Bludd: I like this figure, but I don't think this would make the best version of Bludd---that spot is being taken by the 2000 Major Bludd that came with Rock Viper v2. :D The arms are from the 2002 JvC Firefly and the other parts besides the head look like they're from BlackOut, except slightly modified. Strangely though, I think the head makes a better representation of Dreadnok Zanzibar or even Gristle turning into a pirate.

H.I.S.S.: This vehicle reminds me of a combo of the 2000 Wave Crusher combined with a Hiss III. The colors are ok and overall it doesn't look that great.

Range-Viper(although not pictured): I definitely like Range-Viper and some collectors have already come up with the idea to make him Skull Buster. I'd have to say this figure kicks butt on all cylinders and I wouldn't change a thing about him.

actually Salvo is just a new head ;) The rest is a Grunt body... even the torso.. it's just tweaked... the holster was removed ;)

um... no... actually they look exactly alike, just one has a goatee and one has a moustache... I wish Hasbro went in and atleast retooled the head and took off the goatee part, then it wouldn't have looked as bad.

I dont see it. They look similar but not exactly alike. Hasbro changed the eyes, eyebrows and it looks like the bottom of the face. Maybe its just me though. Its looks like Footloose to me so im happy. Im not nitpicking about it.

no, those are exactly the same head sculpts, no changes have been made at all to the sculpt, just the paint on it. I have customized most of my VvV Shipwreck heads into other characters with only mustaches and they are identical to Footloose's head.

Tomatoes tomatos......lets call the whole thing off. Its still a good figure regardless and fits Footloose perfect. This is what kills me... everyone gets hyped up about joe coming back and getting some new figures. Hasbro comes out the gate and says that they wont be able to produce a ton of new figures yet and would be using hobbled together parts from old figures because they didnt have a huge budget. Everyone knew this but as soon as we get figures everyone nitpicks, complains, says they can do better and what not about stuff. the stuff with wave 1 and 2 are awesome and u can see the progress hasbro is making and u can really see they want this line to work as well. There is more paint and figure detail in the 1st two waves of DTC than all the new joe stuff combined. We need to really be focused on what the hell is coming out for wave 3 and see where it goes from there. Will they be all new molds or frankensteined? When we start getting super serious new molds then we can b*(ch freely.

I see what you are saying after seeing the pics. Again we knew hasbro was going to do this, they came straight out and said it. When they start doing new molds and heads then I will complain.

Thanks for the pics Firefly and X. Can't wait to get mine. Was wondering about the Range Vipe. The ammo around his torso is molded on right? I wanted to use it fer customs.

As for Footloose, if yas don't like the head...use another. ;) I agree though, it would be nice to have had a different one. I'm already using this one without the goatee for Cutter.
