What's folk's opinions on the magazines that accompany these figurines? Are they informative enough? To me, they're very...erm tongue in cheek at times. Which is fine, but if I want humour I'll buy items from another type of 'comic'.

I dunno, the early comics were full on info, but the last couple have had a few too many DC jokes. I think the Magneto one has had the most info in it, found out a lot about him.

Hi Guys,

 

I've just got my 'Captain America' from the shops & I like this one! I always thought that the idea was a little too crude but I think he displays very well , but Captain Britan is just the same too but I'd like him too in this collection!

 

Also :OT: on another note I just my 'Rogues Gallery Mysterio' mini bust @yipee@ today & WOW! this is by far on of the best Diamond Select & Art Asylum have done so far!(sorry to post this here but I'm well chuffed with him!)

 

As for the mags, I like them. I mean I'm a huge 'Spidey' fan but I have found those mags informative as I do not really know that much on some of the other charactes they have done. Generally I'm well pleased with this collection so far & like I have said before I am now only 2 issues behind so maybe 'Eaglemoss' have now turned the corner???

 

Oh well now I can not wait the get 'Doom' next, that should be out on the 5th Jan!!!

The magazines I think are a good accompanyment to the figures, you get to know a little bit about the character . That said without the figurine I wouldn't buy , but given the choice of just the figurine I think it would be hollow , they compliment each other well, one without the other would be a little souless.

 

I like the issue rundown at the bottom of each page, that shows a little bit of the history of each character.

 

collected capt this morning so I'm going to admire the figurine( someome posted earlier that he looks dirty I think on first impression they maybe right) No pleasing some folk lol :-)

Yeah mines a little dirty, and i dont like the maroon colour theyve used, i wud have prefered a nice red. Should have swapped his maroon and daredevils red around in my opinion.

im not much for the mags at the moment, they just seem to be talking like there sat in the pub, i think a frofessional sounding bio for every character would be better instead of jokes about costumes.

 

got my cap today, WH Smiths have stopped selling them now, had to go into a random newsagents in town to get one, and it was the last one.

pretty impressed with the cap figure, any more news yet about what the next special will be?

I'm 2 behind now as well but that's my fault for being impatient with eaglemoss.

 

I cancelled my sub a month ago and set up a 'Specialist Magazine Order' with WHSmiths, but even though I gave them £18 deposit I have seen no sign of Green Goblin or Captain America yet.

 

Why is it so hard to get this soddin mag?!!

 

Anyone else placed an order with WHSmith but not got there mags?

just got all my figures and my free spidey in the post from them so there getting on track,they were like this at the start with the lord of the rings figures also. But after a few months they came in the post with 2 figures in the box and they were 1 ahead of the shops,so everything looks like its sorted now

Hi guys, I am new here, but I just wanted to say hi! and its nice to know that I am not the only person who seems to be some many issues behind with this collection.. But good that we are mostly getting back on track!

If you subscribe, do you get a new plinth/ binder sent out automitically? Or do you need to order them whenever you want them? *Confused* [too much beer]...

when you subscribed you had 2 options to tick one for them to send specials as and when they came out the second was for them to send the plinths and binders automatically as they became necessary , No ticks in those boxes you just get the normal issues

well blade finally arrived this morning , had to laugh when the advert card for hulk fell out lol :-)

Also bought a display cabinet from Ikea to house my collection , only enough to fill one shelf so far , but my collection is growing

 

How is everyone else displaying there collection?

Well things are looking up, i now have a collection.

 

Just before Xmas hulk 4+5 arrived and today 6,7,8,9 arrived.

 

No free spidy yet and the goblins hat is broken (or do they expect me to fix it myself)

 

My Goblin has a brown bag, i remember reading somewhere on here the bag was supposed to be purple (or something like that) can someone advise me on this bag colour thingy please.

 

I have been on the site and cannot see that new banner that someone posted up, has the site been updated and i have an old link?

 

Yep o think Cap America looks dirty, and the silver surfer looks "matt", but maybe the figures are supposed to be "after fight" colours LOL
