Takara No More !!!

It was announced today that Japanese toy makers Tomy and Takara (the company responsible for a majority of the design work for Transformers) have signed the agreement that would merge the two companies and dissolve Takara entirely.

 

The deal will be completed as of March 1st, 2006. At that time, Takara will cease and all things will become Tomy. How this effects Transformers is unknown, but sources from Japan have indicated that there have been no whispers of anything Transformers related past the currently running Galaxy Force series (aka Transformers Cybertron). Of course, this could just be because of the hiatus Hasbro is taking with Transformers the Movie coming out in 2007, with Transformers Cybertron running through 2006 in the United States.

Dangit! I hope they at least keep up with the reissues. That means at that pace we will probably only get 2 or 3 more bookstyle reissues after kup and Wheelie.
