Transformers Alternators - An Issue In Canada???

well i buy all my alternators online...why?...because they dont exist in my area in Ontario...so i decided to call Hasbro.

 

when i called hasbro to ask whats up they told me that the alternators line wasnt selling well enough in canada for them to purchase newer stock so they are stopping orders until possibly christmas time...

 

i thought to myself that was a bunch of BS considering smokescreen all the way to dead-end sold out pretty damn fast in my area when they were released...they just ended up ordering a butt load more of smokescreen/sideswipe because maybe they thought demand for those figures were high...then they just collected dust for months...

 

i heard meister/tracks came out in november near christmas and they all got snatched up quicktime...havent seen a trace of anything since then....

 

is it just me or is hasbro canada not importing any more alternators...they must be idiots because we are all hungry for more!!! @grumpy@

 

what about the rest of you canadians? have you guys seen anything since the tracks/jazz cases?

I honestly havent seen any alternators passed Hound in my area. None of the wal-marts, TRU, Zellers seems to carry the newer alts.

I've seen the occasional Grimlock but thats about it after SilverStreak and Hound. Yet another fine reason leading me to quit Transformers completely.

I've seen up to Tracks and that's it. Thankfully I never collected Alternators to begin with and have always went with Binaltechs.

nothing past hound here at all, i was lucky and went to the states and found four more there, man it sucks not having them around to get, i am pissed just thinking aboot it!!

last ones I saw were grimlock, swindle and meister, but that was months ago. I think walmart had a smokescreen for a month after that, but he sold too.

i saw the first four in large amounts

then nothing

then a few swindles, and a grimlock

i got the rest of them at a comic book store and on ebay

haven't seen anything in a long time. i asked the guys at various walmarts and they were clueless. to say that they weren't selling well enough is just a load of BS. you see a lot of other crappy shelf warmers that they continue to bring in. i've checked many walmarts, so it seems to be consistent.

 

maybe they weren't selling at TRU because of the higher prices, but that's not the fault of the product. i've pretty much given up on the line unless i can find a way to find them consistently.

yeah, I feel everyones pain as well... I managed to see 1 red box (tracks)alt since they have been out. I actually held it in my hands at walmart, but put it back because I didn't have the funds at the time, and I thought to myself that there would be plenty around to pick up at a later time. I can't believe they are not shipping these to Canada... it sucks big time. Just another example that Hasbro Canada is not in touch with its customer base..

My walmart stopped carrying them, superstore clearanced them for a bit and they're left with 2 silverstreaks at full price now, and The Bay has a buttload of 1-4 at higher than regular price

yep at least you guys feel my pain...i can't belive hasbro canada would continue to import crap that no one buys, but STOP importing Alternators...in my opinion are the best selling transformers currently...

 

the only ones i can still find are the ones that are everywhere

 

smokescreen, sideswipe, hound and silverstreak all at the wonderful price of $34.99 + tax at the bay.

 

Only once have i heard about tracks hitting my area and they had 4 of them from 4 cases...one scalper came by and bought all 4 according to my friend...thanks to those people no one in my area will be getting new Alts any time soon...

i hope we get some cases soon...especially the decepticharge cases...i really cant see myself paying $50US for a new alternator yet...

 

hasbro's 1 per case idea is absurd for some figures like tracks and decepticharge which will have high demand due to fan support.

 

figures like swindle and windcharger should have been 1 per case if anything...

Nothing past tracks personaly... We will either get stuff in at/after xmas time or not at all... Personaly I have given up on hunting for figures all togeather & just order in from either comic shops or good friends here on line

 

What would I do with out TNI ?.. GO NUTS THATS WHAT :S

i agree i got all of mine on ebay...although im still waiting for the price of tracks and decepticharge to drop...

 

hopefully they didnt pull decpeticharge because of the defects...because that figure is hard to find even for our friends in the US.

Just wondering but how much are you currently paying with the shiping for alts off of evil bay?.. It may be worth it for you to just shell out for the BT figures.. I get them my self cause they are cheaper/easyer to get than the alts HEH!

usually i pay about $20.99 + $8 shipping for an ALT. i usually buy them in lots so the shipping is cheaper though. but the 1 per case figures are never available like tracks and decepticharge.

they said they got the rest of the figures a few months ago, but they sold out in about a day!...but like other retailers they have gotten nothing since the swindle cases

You Canuks aren't the only ones having issues. Hasbro and retailers are doing a sloppy job stateside, atleast in the Northeast Florida area. All I have seen at my Wal Mart is Silverstreak, that's it. I had to go waaay down south to find a Meister, and it was the only one at the Target.

exactly...they sell them for $39.99 + tax and all they have is swindle left...

 

that price is understandable for tracks, swerve and decepticharge, but comon...swindle is barely selling for $12 on ebay...

 

i really hope we get some decent alts come november...

Checked my Target and all they had were three boxes... Jeep Swindle and Honda S2000 Windcharger for $19.99. Will check Wal-Mart and K-Mart in my area but the Cybertron and commemoratives are the main ones I see and currently at this time have no interest in those (well, maybe the Optimus..but still going back and forth on whether or not to get that one).

 

 

UPDATE 8/13:

 

Early morning check and Wal-Mart starting their clearance today and found their last two Alternators clearanced to $7.50 and picked those up.

my local comic shop now has shockblast, wheeljack, grimlock and swerve for the good old price of $41.99 + tax making them about $49CDN after taxes.

 

i managed to pick up the last decepticharge...i think that was the only one worth the price...

 

anyone else?
