The New Vampiro?

Ok Vampiro has always been one of my favourite wrestlers and I know he spends most of his time wrestling in Mexico, so I've never actually gotten a chance to follow his career much.

 

Anyways I'm channel surfing today and I come across CMLL on the Latin Network and I see this out-of-shape guy with a buzz cut, no dreadlocks, no white face paint. But all the tats seem to be there, and his pants says Vampiro on the back...cept he looks like a brunette Sandman, very out-of-shape and slow, and he looks old. I know it's been some years since he was last in WCW, but is THAT Vampiro now???

I havent seen him wrestle in a while , but I have his shoot interview & he had shaved his head bald .

 

I also read somewhere that he doesnt use the facepaint anymore , either .

man he let himself go. He can't be THAT old. Vampiro looks like he could be Sandman's brother now heh

 

He did win his six man match with two masked luchadores, but didn't get any mic-time (probably because he can't speak spanish?)

 

The second six-man lucha match was very entertaining though. El Santo teamed up with a rookie and the great La Parka (in a neon pink version of his trademark costume!) - and WWE Divas have NOTHING on CMLL valet latinas!

Or was it El Hijo Del Santo ( Son of Santo ) ?

I don't follow CMLL all that much, I know some of the legendary stars but I can't say if their sons (or other wrestlers) are wrestling under their masks.

 

They just had him in the graphic as "Santo" - and he was complete with sliver mask and silver tights, so I just figured it was the original El Santo...but it could be his son *shrug*

 

I swear, if La Parka had worn those neon pink skeleton costume in his WCW days, Vince would have scooped him up for SmackDown!

 

From what I could tell from the show, the chairman of the board has dropped the chair gimmick and is more involved in dancing. He had a nice dance session with a HOT latina before coming to the ring.

Parka wore several different color costumes I beleive, yellow, and pink I think.

I taped a show sometime last year, it was real good and La Parka came out to the Thriller music and had these zombie looking guys with him, then they stopped by the ring and started doing the thriller dance, lol... of course La Parka was doing his normal dancing, but the Zombie guys were doing all the moves from the Thriller, it was pretty cool, lol.. soory... just reminded me of that.

Vampiro has been slow since he was rookie. he has been ridiculed for his entoire career for his lack of ring knowledge. he didnt even really learn anything until he came to WCW....and thats not saying much. Im definitley not knocking anyone fore liking him, we've all got our weird favorites. but if youre worried about his work ethic, im just suprised you didnt expect it.

Hutchinson was one of my favorite WCW stars, I enjoyed his feud with Sting back on 2000 a lot. He does speak spanish, very fluent. in fact, he has been living in Mexico for several years after and before joining WCW.

 

El Hijo del Santo is another great wrestler, the same finishing move as his dad, "la de a caballo" something like the Steiner recliner.
