Dtc Scrap Iron & Spirit

Lt Falcon

Recommended Posts

So I was looking at the accessories to the DTC figs I just got in the mail, and I noticed that Scrap Iron's gun has 2 holes in the side where it looks like something should attach. I figured Hasbro just decided against an accessory at the last minute, but they left the holes, so I didn't pay it much more attention.

Then, I was looking at Spirit's gun, and it had 2 pegs on the side. I thought to myself that it was weird, but then I gave it a shot and, sure enough, it plugs right into Scrap Iron's gun, making it friggin' huge. Anybody have any ideas why?

I wish I could upload a pic, but just imagine the entire barrel of Spirit's gun (which is already huge) added to the length of Scrap Iron's gun (which is also huge.)

Thanks for catching this. I'm just now opening mine and putting them together. It looks rediculous, but its a definite match. I don't think these are or were designed to be specifically matched. Maybe these new accesories were kinda setup like the Spy Troops with "sound attack" compatability. Probably they scratched some parts on the drawing board last minute like you said. Good observation!

I think it was an idea for Robot Rebellion. That since the BATS could interchange parts (as shown by Overkill and the new BAT v5) the Joes (and I guess some Cobra characters) would have interlocking weapons.

Kinda like when Ripley taped up her Marine pulse machine gun and flamethrower together in ALIENS.

I noticed this too. Makes me think that the new weapons weren't specifically designed for these characters. Back in the day, as we all know, prior to 1991 weapons were rarely reused. Each character had a unique weapon. I'm hoping that trend returns with the DTC line. I just can't wait to have Scrap Iron ambush the Night Ops Humvee with that huge rocket launcher he comes with.

Hey Lt Falcon...

any chance we can see more pics of your collection. I really like the way you have your figs posed. they look sweet. :OT:

I'll see what I can do for ya. I'll have to borrow my bro's camera, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I heard about this a few days ago somewhere. Anyway I also heard Spirit's gun can go on the Night Humvee I believe.

Spirits rifle does fit on the Humvee's! Try it on the green or desert colored ones! It looks pretty cool.

LT.FALCON,

VERY detailed collection!!!

P.S.: Just don't let the ARAH Authority see those pics. I understand that they Give Tickets/summonses to collectors who display figures INCORRECTLY.

-(They) say that you should display arah SEPERATE from NEW MOLDS.

Just be carefull. Nice collectiuon,though.

Oh, I just put Scrap Iron there to take a pic. I actually have him posed across the room, but it was too hard to get a pic up there. Now that I think about it, though, most of my figures are segregated. . . with the exception of the Noks and Cobras. But all of my Joes are. . . huh. . . I need to fix that.
