Transmetal Paint Chipping

I recently refound my Transmetal Rattrap from a box. It has all it's parts and everything; perfect in every way except that the "metal" paint is chipping BADLY. It got everywhere. Is there any way to make it stop chipping and repair it? I was thinking of finding hte same color paint, then going over it with clear nail polish to seal it? Would that work? Anyone have any advice on what to do.

Get use to it; I had a Transmetal Cheetor which I barely touched and the guy's chrome paint started to getting "black" in like 2 months after I bought it back on 1999. Sad.

From the figures I had which had that kind of finished, the most likely to get the paint damaged are Ultra Jetstorm from BM, Ratrap from TM, Cheetor from TM. I owned almost every transmetal with the exception of Rhinox and any of them with the exception of Cheetor and Ratrap suffered that damage.

Chrome pant, and then a clear coat paint in the desired colour.

Chrome paint is usually spray tho, so hope your pieces are detachable, or easily maskable

This is a common problem for figures like TM2 Cheetor and TM Rattrap.

Some advice would be to not touch it too often and be very careful when you do. There is no way to stop the chipping. So you need to keep that in mind when you handle it.

There are some chrome nail polishes that achive a decent effect, provided you canmatch the color.

This is why I kinda prefer the TM re-dos from Armada and TFU. Chrome is great for details, but widescale use can cause problems
